"Canned food is a perversion,' Ignatius said. 'I suspect that it is ultimately very damaging to the soul."
- John Kennedy Toole (A Confederacy of Dunces)
In addition to the daily walking, I have been working on my pushups - still need to do them on my knees but can do more of them with ease now. I can do a regular pushup if I start on the ground and push myself up, so I do as many of those as I can. Also in the same vein, working on the plank and how long I can hold that. Seeing progress, all is not lost! There is fitness after fifty!
I also still have the ping pong lessons an hour twice a week. I recommend this sport to all older tennis players who have given that up due to injuries, and to anyone who wants to find a sport that works out your body, balance, brain, coordination and social skills and can be done at any age.
A nice long, leisurely walk, with stops to watch the ducks in the lake.
Kubbalah yoga and then sprints.
5 miles on the mountian bike

What are people's thoughts on working out only on the weekends? Usually, I end up working out Friday - Sunday instead of interspersed throughout the week. I don't feel sore/tired/out of sorts (although on Sunday I managed to take off most of my left cuticles on a slab at Rumney), but I'm wondering if I should try staggering more. Let me know!
