3 sets of pushups to failure.
Todays workout is Death by Push and Jump:
Press Ups and Box Jumps. Complete one repetition of each in the first minute, 2 repetitions in the second minute and so on until you cannot complete the required repetitions in any given minute.
I managed 22 rounds with a 24" box. Anyone gonna give it a go?

3 sets of pushups to failure.
-Connoisseur Guy
Tell me what a press up is and I'll give it a row.
Walked the dog another 1.5, so that makes it 3.5 for the day.
Got in a workout this afternoon. Somehow came up with this doozy on the drive home:
3 Rounds:
Push Up/Renegade Row/T-Hold/Weighted Burpee Hybrid x 10 (I guess you could call it a 12 count burpee)
Pull Up/Knees to Elbows Hybrid x 10
Medicine Ball Slams x 10
Sledgehammer Swings x 10 each side.
Whole thing took around 20 minutes (wasn't timing). Couldn't figure why it seemed so hard until I counted up and figured I did 150 push ups during this workout.
Ahhhhhh, I found out a press up is British for what we across the ponders call a push up. Alright Coach, I'll try to get this one in some time this weekend.

I picked up a barbell for first time ever on 1/10/11 at age 39. This week on max rep singles I did 275 dead, 235 squat and 165 bench at a bodyweight of 157.5. I am pretty happy with this progress in 3.5 months since this is already above bw bench, right at 1.5x bw on squat, deadlift has 40 pounds to go for 2x but it will happen.
Also there are plenty of bigger guys than me at the gym but when I put on a 45 pound plate and do pull-ups, chin-ups or dips even they watch. Funny.
Anyway I have posted my entire cycle every workout day for the past month or so. Started with backoff week, then higher volume (sets of 5) week, then to sets of 3 with higher weight, this week going for 1 rep maxes. Next week I will just do kettlebells (got a few different workouts on those) and some sprints/hill runs. This will probably be my last post for a while as I will ride this pony as long as it can go and have posted all my workouts and will just be repeating things. Maybe I will check in a few months and report some progress. Good luck everyone.

Finisher: Death by Push and Jump - 17 rounds. Brutal! It looks simple but by the end you are getting no rest inbetween rounds as they are getting harder. Didn't quite match 22 rounds, but I'll keep trying!
