New Group: Grok didn't need shoes

I've created a group for people who prefer to go barefoot as much as possible.

Fans of VFF, Vivo Barefoot, and any other minimalist shoe is welcome.

    Cheers!

    Hey guys,
I love being barefoot too. I've been trying to get some VFFs for a while but they have been out of stock forever.
@rockstareddy: A while back some people were suggesting water shoes as a cheap alternative, haven't tried it myself though.

I agree, NicoB! Great idea for a group. It's the first one I've joined.

I've been working on my transition from VFFs to barefoot. I started out with such tender feet, but now that I've walked miles of concrete and asphalt barefoot in my neighborhood and at the beach, they're starting to toughen up and going barefoot is becoming much more enjoyable.

One thing I love about walking barefoot is being much more aware of the ground under my feet. I have to be more aware of where I'm putting every step, rather than just plodding along mindlessly in foot-armor. Every step is unique and flexes the whole body in a slightly different way. And then there's the sensory and agility challenge of avoiding animal waste, sharp objects and tree seeds. My feet still start to blister after a few miles, but the blisters are much smaller and they go away faster than when I started going barefoot.

Looking forward to barefoot tips from the veterans and barefoot experiences from the novices!

@rockstareddy - a cheap pair of canvas sneakers will have a really thing sole and zero support. I know swim shoes are a popular substitute too.

Personally I've never gotten blisters from either barefooting or VFFs. Of course, I've only ever worn shoes reluctantly. And those have usually been cheap canvas sneakers.

I horrified the lady at the day spa not too long ago. I went in for a package deal and she asked if I wanted a pedi. I asked her if my feet looked like I was the kind of girl who wanted a pedi. (I got a facial instead )

Barefoot Paul, go to your profile page, then look for the "groups" box on the left near the bottom.
