I'm glad I popped into this thread - Iced crio bru is brilliant. I've been drinking tons of coffee iced lately - this will be a great alternative. I loved the stuff, but went through it so fast and it's expensive (atleast where I found it). Gotta try cowboy style over ice... (wanders off to figure out where else to buy crio bru today).

Hint learned from experimentation. After cowboy style bru pot has been sitting around a while, say when you are down to half a pot, run the hand blender around in it to release even more chocolately goodness. You can then add some more water and reboil getting more brew out of less bru.

I gots to find me some of this in AU.

Doesn't surprise me at all that people find it so delicious. Back when I worked at a bakery called Chocolate Raspberry, we had bins of different kinds of chocolate. The best-smelling was the completely bitter. Inevitably, despite being warned....one day when you'd stuck your head in that bin just to smell it...you had to taste one.

I know I've had ice cream and chocolate truffles with cocoa nibs...mmm.

I will have to try the handblender trick, although I'm a little afraid of splattering grounds all over the place. What I've been doing is using my teapot and just leaving the grounds in the pot. I add more the next day and keep the old ones in. This morning I just make the bru with all leftover grounds. It was fairly weak so I poured it into the french press with some coffee and made a combo of weak crio bru and french press coffee. Nothing really special about it but at least I felt like I got as much as I could out of the crio bru. But next time I'm blenderizing it.

Now yer talkin'. That would make crio bru fit more into my budget. I have a glass teapot like SB has that I have usually used for homemade herbal tea. I hope my stick/hand blender fits thru the top of it. SWEET!!

I don't know if I mentioned this, but I ground up the wet, used grounds a little more and added it to some coconut cream ice cream (canned coconut cream, frozen bananas and strawberries). Tastes sort of like chocolate chip ice cream.

    my breakfast this morning--

1c grass fed heavy cream whisked with 3 eggs custard style and warmed slowly then strained carefully through crio grounds. Then I threw that in my ninja with ice and some almond milk.

    Breakfast crio frappe!

Holy hell on wheels... That sounds rich! And delicious!!!

And here I am feeling like I'm being all "indulgent" when I bump up my iced coffee with an extra 1/4 cup of cream on top of the cup of raw whole Jersey/Guernsey milk!!! LOL
