Hubby has continued with the bad belly pretty much all day, including numerous rounds of diarrhea this morning. I'm convinced it's the bread, plus there was probably flour in the peppercorn sauce on his steak. He does say it started very soon after he ate the bread. He's still not quite sure this is why. I gave him a probiotic today, so far he's doing better and tolerated a banana and some boiled eggs.

I did errands and a bit of homework. Had a chat with a lady in the meat section over pork hocks about traditional comfort sorts of foods, which was kind of interesting. I didn't buy the hocks today, though they are something we had fairly regularly when I was a kid.

I think I finally figured out the Diva cup...this is the third cycle I've used it, and finally must have the positioning correct as there has been minimal leakage, which I had lots of before. I also trimmed the entire stem off, which makes it more comfortable.

Not too hungry today after the large meal last night.

    Eats:
    B: coffee with cream.
S: 1/2 cup of leftover roast pork, 2 squares of lindt 70% caramel chocolate
D: taco salad: 1 cup of grass fed ground beef, seasoned, over mixed greens with some tomato, bit of cheddar & sour cream.

Time to watch some food porn for the evening I think, foodnetworkTV here I come.

It takes practice. I'm still practicing

    Sounds like a wonderful dinner!

I hope your hubby's belly settles down...

Hubby's belly seems to have settled. He's starting to think that it really may have been from the bread, which he says really wasn't that tasty and definitely wasn't worth the results. Ha.

So fat today I've managed to get my car cleaned inside & out, made 2 kinds of kale chips - olive oil & balsamic with sea salt, and butter with sea salt. OMG, the buttery ones are so tasty, but I oversalted them a tad. Oops. Still good. I also have some dry rub pork back ribs in the oven, which are starting to smell delicious.

Homework on tap for the rest of the day. Sigh.

I'm glad his belly is settling.

    You've been productive today!
I've yet to make kale chips...one of these days...

Productive...guess that's subjective. That stuff was my procrastination from my course work! But at least that's now done for today now.

    Today's eats:
B: coffee with cream, 3 HB eggs with tomato, cucumber, 1/2 a small avocado, lime and some kimchi. Forgot I had it in the fridge. New stuff for me, but not bad.
    S: kale chips.
Refrained from snacking in the late afternoon out of mindlessness.
D: large portion of pork back ribs, yumyum, side of broccoli, small glass of wine.

I've been tracing in fitday on and off. I'm generally 80-100+ g of protein, which is good, and fat has been lower than I was eating before tracking, usually around 80-100 g as well. Carbs vary, depends on the day, 40-70 ish for the most part. A big thing I am seeing in black and white is that my food is quite good, but then I bugger up the total intake with a couple of drinks and maybe something sweet like dark chocolate. Not that I really didn't know that, but it puts it quite blatantly that I need to cut out that stuff if I want to actually get rid of these last few pounds of fat. Not really rocket science here.

Today I started level 2 of NROLFW. Workout A has some new exercises I have never done before (so does B), with adding some upper/lower body combination lifts plus more core work. Nearly kicked my butt. HR got up there, lots of huffing and puffing at times. Nice. I didn't feel super energic during the workout, which was at about 12+ hours fasted, pretty normal for my lifting. Thought I'd walk for just a few minutes after the lifting to loosen up the legs, and energy picked up enough to do 45 min. A good workout. Had some trouble with the push/press, which is a barbell movement, do a front squat (bar in front of you) then spring up at the top a bit while pressing the bar into a shoulder press. Takes some coordination, which I lacked, even though I used only a 40 lb barbell to try out the form. Hopefully I'll get it at some point.

    Todays food:
    B: black coffee
L: (post workout) BAS with mixed greens, one plum tomato, 2 mini cucumbers, 1 celery stalk, dijon/acv/balsamic/avocado oil dressing, 1 tin of tuna plus a tin of smoked oysters. They were very tasty, but I had fish burps the rest of the afternoon...needed a mint!
D: hot wings (a lot), kale chips and some raw cauliflower.

Yes, I believe I need to bite the bullet and step up to what I've been babbling about for a while. Keep the protein up, create a bit of a calorie deficit (and yes, we know what we must do here), not aim so high for fats, and so on. Combined with the lifting, it should move me past this limbo of the same 5 lbs down and up for the last many months. I think I'll weigh and measure in the morning for tracking purposes.

So get up off that lazy arse?? Or maybe you're not feeling that guilty !!

This morning's weight still reflects the same 5 lbs I've been going on about. I'm at the top end. Yet, interestingly, my waist measures 2 inches less than my last measure in early Feb, and around the belly button is down 1 inch. Hips actually up about 1/4 inch. I started my recent lifting the same week as the last measures, and I can see a visible difference in muscles in the upper body, I would expect I've gained a bit of muscle, though haven't measured BF% for a while. Initially, the scale was a bit discouraging, but the measures give me some perspective.

I'll keep up the LHT, walking and throw in some sprints while working on dialing in the food portions. Aiming for somewhere in the 1500-1600 calorie range per day (ish).

haha, yup, there you have it, cleary I dont feel "that" guilty

Good on you with those measurements... really it is those that count not the scales. My scales were showing maybe an extra pound but my waist had gained an inch... it was the way my clothes were feeling on me that made me think "danger, danger, will robinson"
