It's my last night in Sweden. The working group was extremely useful, and I've made a lot if good contacts from partner countries. And it's been a lot of fun, too.

Bit of an issue with the 7 hour time difference. The second night, after 4 hours of sleep, I woke up at 3 am, raging hot and sweaty. Might have forgotten to take the black cohosh, not entirely sure. By 430, I was still awake, so decided I was up for the day and did some work readings. It was a rather long day.

Up early for my ride to the airport, will be about 20 hrs from when I leave until I get home. Gothenburg to Frankfurt to Denver then home for 9pm Sat, which will be 4am Sweden time. O_o.

Made it home around 930 last night, but my luggage did not. Not pleased. I know it made it through the first 2 flights, as I had to get it to clear customs in Denver, then recheck it in for the last flight home. So how the heck did it not make that flight with me?? The next United flight from Denver was due in 2 hours ago, but I haven't had a call yet. My new clothes, plus uniforms and all the materials plus disc of all the presentations are in there. Plus, the bag is brand new.

Caught up with hubby last night, so finally went to bed after being up about 26 hours. Slept well for about 10. Now I'm feeling very weary. Restocked groceries, probably making meatza for dinner. Glad I asked and got Monday off. Think I'll still be feeling it a good bit tomorrow. Had thought about bringing melatonin with me, but kind of forgot. I've not used it before, but it does seem to have a lot of favourable reports for use in jet lag.

Son #2 managed to back my car up into son #1's car this week. Definitely needs to be fixed. Damn. At least I heard it first from him via text the day it happened. He said scratches, but it's more than that. Plus scratches and dent on his brother's car. Will probably call insurance tomorrow to see what the impact is going to be.

Had good food while away, but more on that later. And I do have a couple of food porn picks. I must say that I've never had tastier fresh shrimp than I ate in Sweden. Mmmmmm.

Sure hope the luggage arrives? Did it have ID on it? I'm sure it will appear - luggage tracing is very good these days. Eh...it has to be...it happens often enough.

Take it easy and enjoy being home.

Just received a phone call, apparently my luggage has arrived in Edmonton. Why there and not here? Who the hell knows. At least it's accounted for and allegedly in a locked room, and they will get it to me soon. Good grief. Funny how your luggage can't travel without you unless it's lost. If you check bags in and then don't board, your luggage is removed from the plane. Yet apparently it can be sent to a different city quite independently.

Meatza was pretty damn good. CAFO extra lean beef (had no grass fed stuff thawed), organic sauce, fresh oregano & basil, mushrooms, just picked heirloom tomato (amazing), sweet pepper, kalmata olives, mozza. Boys devoured theirs, I have a piece left for tomorrow.

Not quite as fatigued as a few hours ago, but still tired. Aiming for a regular bedtime tonight to work at resetting.

My scoby to be seems to be pretty much a real scoby now, after 3 weeks of germinating (no idea if that term applies here, but it works for me). How very cool! He's about 1/4 inch thick. Yet with my away schedule, I don't think I should actually start my first batch, since when it may be ready I likely won't be here. I leave again in 7 days for a week, then home for 3 and away for another week. Perhaps I'll leave it to grow a bit more this week, then start a batch just before we leave for Vegas. But it would be 10 days before I get back to bottle. Any recommendations from those who've been brewing? Should I wait till I'm home from that last trip to start?? I suppose at worst, it might be less than great, and will be ready to restart a new batch afterwards...

On both long days of travel, I used my usual coconut oil plus baking soda on the pits as deodorant. I was pleased to note that I wasn't smelly at then end of either travel day. And yes, I did check. I was leery of the effectiveness over the long days, but it worked splendedly. Better than shorter travel days previously with standard deoderants. Another huzza for primal things.

Went to bed at 11, was in and out of sleep from 6 until I got up at 745. Feeling very tired again by 10. Oil change done on car (and the service guy there thought the body damage would be able to be pounded out rather than needing bumper replaced, I hope he's right), stopped at the health food store for a few things.

The hot flashes have been back more over the past week, might be due to change in times of taking the black cohosh, but I figured I'd add back in the dong quai to see if it helps. I used one bottle worth when I started the black cohosh, then stopped. Can't hurt to see if adding it back in is helpful. Waking at some point most nights all hot and sometimes sweaty, and it's back to happening sometimes during the day as well. Not at all pleasant. Also bought some melatonin to get me through the next few days till my body clock readjusts. And kombucha. Stopped and cancelled the gym membership that I haven't used much for a while, since I want to start back to crossfit once all this travel for the month is done.

Belly is a bit off at times since getting home. Might be related to airplane food, was probably some gluten in there, plus the week away no doubt had bad oils here and there. Some very loose and watery BMs too the past couple of days after not going as much while away. Adding kombucha in daily, looking forward to starting my own batch once I figure out when it makes sense to put it on. Scoby is looking nice and healthy.

My luggage is being delivered this afternoon, best time estimate is between 12 and 2, or 3 at the latest. Still waiting. Have lamb bones along with slices of beef feet in the pressure cooker for bone broth while I wait. Dinner will be a beef blade roast (going to try that in the pressure cooker for a change) and cauli mash, which I haven't made in a while. Saving the leftover meatza for tomorrow's work lunch.

Damn, I need a nap! But have to wait for the delivery, plus a couple of other errands to do once it arrives.
