it is one of those wierd alice in wonderland sorta occurences tho seeing a cat and a mouse having a boxing match. we had a rabbit being strange at the weekend too. me and dd#3 had been to see my neighbour. as we were walking home, this rabbit leapt out of the bushes and ran down her driveway in front of us. then hung a right and ran all the way down the road, along the road, in front of us. usually they just leap about and then back into another bush.

have smoked my salmon and it is sitting in the smoker cooling down. pretty exciting as i have never smoked a whole salmon out of the sea before. only frames i get from the fish shop.

fantastic about the salmon............are you sure it wasn't a hare ????? they go a little strange at this time of the year ???? no wait that might be mad as a march hare - meaning other side of the world - we are more like mad as a september hare........ but having said that we have heaps of hares around here and they are weird !!!!!!!
am off to get the mail - as in go for a walk, and then its finish the lawns.
I started them yesterday and I seriously thought that I had damaged the mower - BIG TIME.......... when DH got back from his golf tourny we flipped it up, and thank goodness it was just a big clump of grass and twigs stopping the blade from going around. I can't afford a new ride on, and when I can - I want a really BIG one !!!!!!! so instead of it taking me 6 hours to mow the damned lawn - it will take me 4 hours !!!!!!!!

No rabbits or hares in these parts thankfully. We live right on the edge of farmland so I keep expecting my cats to bring home something larger than a mouse or sparrow but so far nothing. A few times we've seen bunnies running about in the fields but quite a distance from our place.

Must go do my newsletter now.......again I've left it until the last possible moment!

no it was a rabbit. we dont get hares in our patch. further down the road in both directions where it is sandier and drier, but not here. i do like hares. they taste totally different to rabbits but i would never shoot one myself. i know they are "pests" but that old tradition about them being sacred must run deep.

my lawn mower is a ride on too but she is fat and spotty LOL environmentally friendly even. she does tend to not be that discriminate between the roses and the grass. and she doesnt like mowing buttercups either or docks. the kids have just been to pick her up as she was stuffing her face in the neighbour's paddock. so little grass around here that i spot graze her places like a proper little gypsy horse.

hahahahahaha - I have thought about fencing some of the lawn and putting the sheep on it - but it might not go down so well with 'he who must not be named' !!!!!!!!
I haven't heard about hares being sacred ?????? I haven't ever eaten one either ????? but I do love rabbit. I think that I posted that butter rabbit recipe - didn't I ????

Bah, still procrastinating. Just reading that thread about de-cluttering and got all carried away reading links.

My 'big declutter of 2013' is going well, still slowly though. Sorted the lego in DS's room yesturday, all in one box now and the instruction booklets are stashed away in his own file box. And I dug through the kitchen cupboard (you know the one with all the plastic's that don't have lids anymore?) and swiftly bagged up two lots of rubbish from there. I need to list baby clothes on TM now and i need to stop making excuses for not doing it, like the attic stairs were folded away and I couldn't be bothered sorting into bundles/listing on TM/organising postage.........

Is Misabi a dude? I always assumed woman......oh dear.

Actually I have quite a lot of wine that *needs* decluttering. And two bottles of Lemoncello I found lurking in the freezer this week.
