Doing well, here. Luckily, they are ok with a slow pace, and DH and I are able to hang out, do some work, and just take a nice slow pace.

Going to an event today -- a little party. My ILs have shown us so many outfit/shoe combinations for this casual gathering, that you'd think they were 11 yr old girls going to a beiber concert. So funny.

Otherwise, getting through all kinds of good things, not at all tempted beyond diet.

I spend most of my time on the floor (love it). we have more furniture than we need, actually. Two chairs, though we do use them occasionally, an I would say that we could probably do without our table/chairs since we usually picnic on the floor anyway. I think if we just had the two beds, dresser, and stool, we'd be just fine. Also, the shelves in the closet. We do need those. Still. . . it's not much.

But, I guess that guests like to sit in chairs.

OMG Seaweed you would SO NOT be proud of me.
Get to Kaikoura by 7am (2 hour drive from ours), take my two avomene tablets for seasickness, travel for about an hour to our first fishing spot......feeling like I wanted to puke the whole way - so have another tab that I got from a specialist years ago - maxalon equivalent......sick feeling really queasy.......everyone is catching fish at a great rate of knots.....I still haven't got up from the chair !!!!.........really queasy......... more fish, sharks, octupussy, blue cod, gurnard, perch.....still feeling queasy - but now wanting to sleep................ fast forward 7 hours..... not one fishing line, not one fish, P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C. So I concede....I aint no fisher woman - althou I can do the fishwife call !!!! LOL
so I came home with a crayfish, blue cod and perch, but feeling as guilty as hell, cos I hadn't caught a thing !!!!!!!
......and can I just add that I did not feed the fishies, but middle DD (who has an iron stomach - DID). She might have had a jim beam too many last night.
So here - in lies my confession......and next time I will stay on dry land with my knitting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of those anti-nausea tablets are worse than the nausea I think Gwamma.

I'm one who always needs a seat - or a flat area to lie down on. The strain on my muscles trying to keep my spine upright becomes agonising if I don't have a comfy spot to lean back on and take off the pressure. But in saying that I realise that my back has actually been really stable lately, so maybe a little floor sitting would not be off the cards after all?

Last day at work tomorrow, then 3 whole weeks off. Looking forward to that!

My parents are off home in the morning too, quite a relief as DH had a bit of a 'to do' with mum tonight and I really can't be bothered with it. In feb DH is off to Norway for some course, the same week as my annual conference (really important I attend this) and the same week as his parents go overseas. So we had organised my parents to have the kids, but DH forgot our discussions about this and claimed total ignorance when my mum commented that she's feeling a bit worried about coping. My mum and dad will be fine, they just lack the confidence and our two can be quite full on which is worrying them. Not helped by DH wondering why on earth they are looking after the kids in the first place, and suggesting that I send them to his parents - he must be deaf or something! Argh..... Men!

Hi LL, Yes I suppose some of those anti nauseas can be worse than being sick - but I faint and fit when I vomit, so not so nice for others !!!!!! One day I will find myself one that actually works !!!
Happy new year to you all. Hope that you had a grand night.
Am off for a coffee and cream - and then its a cleaning day. We went for an early new years picnic yesterday - as the weather today wasn't looking so good. So up the waimak in the jetboats, found a wee picnic spot, made us a wee fire, and cooked up bacon, eggs etc..... brilliant day !!!!!!!
So have a nice relaxed one everyone and I will catch up tomorrow

Ohh Gwamma, we aren't ignoring you. Well I don't know about the others, I certainly am not. Just walked back in the door from working my two day shifts ... so a short break before I go back for my night shifts tomorrow.

I hope that you are keeping out of trouble.

I'm out of town, so online less. We're in paraparaumu, and it's windy and going to rain tomorrow, so we are going to do some local stuff, rather than what I want to do because guess who didn't bring rain gear, even though we told them to bring rain gear? Six pairs of the same effing keen trail shoes (that's 6 pairs each) but no $35 rain gear. I was hoping to do berries or the rose gardens tomorrow, but instead we are back indoors.

Ah well. Hopefully Ngawi will be nice weather.

hello all - Dragon how was christmas ????? and no I am so not keeping out of trouble !!!!! We new age Gwammas have got to get out there and do our thing LOL enjoy your shift
and Zoes - you have really got to wonder about that one !!!! No raincoat - bloody hell !!! Give them a black rubbish bag each, cut a couple of arm holes..... by the time you have finished your walk, they will have hopefully learned their lesson - LOLOL

Today I am continuing my spring cleaning !!!!even thou its the middle of summer ! The wee Harry potter cupboard (under the stairs) is getting a make over. It is quite a big cupboard, so I am putting all the grandchildren stuff in there - in little cubbies. I have 24 little cubbies, and baskets full of toys and books etc.... so when they come to stay they can go uinder there and get out whatever they like - brilliant plan says me.

I am also desperately trying to ramp up my primal lifestyle. I cannot ditch the wine completely - us Gwammas need at least one vice.......but exersize and food choices are all back on track. I really have been naughty over christmas, but have also suffered accordingly. The aching and carb flu symptoms have been huge, however after two days of eating very 'clean', althou I have had wine, I have energy to burn !!!!!
Yehaa this old Gwamma is back on track !!!!!!!!

anyway peoples - have the best day and I shall be back on the morrow

a friend of mine kept her son's toys under the stairs, it worked well. He had 40X more toys than my kiddo, who is currently using two baskets and three small shelves (of 5 -- the other two are pantry), and I just did a cull before christmas. People say I'm mean, but honestly, I am just providing what the kid actually uses.

I'm thinking of doing a smaller cull when we get back. I already did the wardrobe for both DH and I. So, that's good. Probably one more go-through and we'll be good to go.
