Wow, first I've heard about the tornado. We had torrential rain today and it has been humid as hell for the past couple if days, but not very windy.

didnt the last tornado they had hit about there and from vague memory there was one somewhere around there a good 15 yrs ago? good excuse to leave the big smoke!

We had one last year, that went through a residential area ripping roofs off of houses and killed a father of 2 working on a construction site at a busy mall. I was working on the 11th floor of an office block in the city and we were watching videos of it happening on the web, they were also showing that it was tracking south straight for the city, but luckily it died out once it got over the water of the harbour.
Had no idea about today's tornado. Three dead and at least 7 injured, some seriously and the death toll is apparently expected to rise.

Lol I agree about the weather Gwamma.
Don't you guys have earthquakes down there?... Mind you, we're long overdue one of the, what 50 volcanoes that this city's built on to blow.

looking at the pics on here Deadly tornado hits Auckland i can just see where we used to live over the harbour in one pic and also over the road from where i used to work is all flooded.

hello peoples....... hope you have all been warm and safe today. Bitterly cold here in north canterbury. I don't think that I will be getting a tan this weekend !!!
off out to a show and then dinner tonight, so that should be fun, althou will need a warm jacket. So will catch you all tomorrow!
Oh and I managed a 1 hour walk this morning. yay for me !!!!!!!
