I came to Primal from the Zone, where I'd gone due to a family propensity to Alzheimer's. At age 64, this ketone-brain focus pulls me in, too.
I posted this video over in my journal... at around 35min Nora G. says that some neurologists are now considering migraines to be related to/a type of seizure activity...

It's long but maybe your friend would watch it... ?
    That lady knows her stuff.

I've been down the road with morphine for another condition, a nerve disease... and I'm now controlling my disease through diet pretty miraculously IMO.
I just found out that that condition I was always told was just a disease and in me it was too far progressed for anything to ever be done is actually autoimmune connected... and DIET is winning!
I hate to be rude... but F*k WHEAT!!! And the rest of the gluten containing crap.

And that's why I'm here eating HFLC Primal/Paleo.

IIRC Oliver Sacks also posited something like that in one of his books.

And of course he wrote an entire book on the subject. Might be worth a read.

    Ahh, thank you very much...
Another one to add to my reading list!

It takes longer for some folks.
It's been over nine months. Certainly long enough. And unlike most people we don't eat cheat foods. Ever. No bread, cake, soda pop, pizza or whatever.

Have your baseline readings changed at all?

Sacks is a fascinating writer, too.

Total cholesterol had been 256 back in 2007 when I had the last test and LDL 157.

In the other thread where this was discussed you indicated that you are still losing considerable weight... is that correct?
This will influence your numbers until your weight stabilizes.

    Take that into consideration?

Whoa, you're comparing results from five years ago? That hardly tells us if Primal helped or hurt the situation. If you had results from just before going Primal, then you'd have some basis of comparison.

I don't know how Primal could jack most people's LDL and trigs. Especially trigs. Do you use FitDay or any other tracking to test out your macros? When my wife and I transitioned into Primal, we were doing VLC during the week, with our 20% on the weekends. We also were running about 3 times a week. Our trigs improved dramatically, and LDL came in line nicely.

I have a question, is anybody here sensitive to dairy ?
If so, what's your experience with mascarpone and heavy cream ?

Because I tend to tolerate butter quite well, can't eat much yoghurt or milk without feeling bad, and can't eat much cheese without having acid reflux the next day.
I want to try Mascarpone since it's mostly fat...

    Thanks
    Young self-caring Paleo-eater from France.
(So please forgive the strange way I tend to express myself in your beautiful language )
