Monoculture practices lead to long-term dropoffs in efficiencies, and polyculture farms that raise animals on pasture have the highest efficienies (and also are better for human, animal, and soil) - Google Joel Salatin's "We Can Feed the World." Also, Mother Earth News had a series on sustainable farming being able to feed the world that was very good.

Human ingenuity > human inefficiency and myopic greed.
    Excellent comment.

    This.

I get that we should save as many lives as we can...but nature will balance itself one way or the other. Overpopulation is going to catch up with us whether by famine, or disease, or natural disaster. Tipping the scales further in an effort to mitigate what is inevitable will only speed the process, in my opinion.

While neolithic disease may be wiping people out they generally live long enough to have kids and use up resources. It's not killing people fast enough. The problem with people starving is that you won't just be sitting back eating your primal popcorn substitute. Should it get to the point of disease and famine you'll be fighting to keep every scrap you hope to eat.

One way to save water is to stop pooping in it and flushing it down the toilet.

Anyway, I agree that it'll all get sorted out in the end. It's not going to be an enjoyable thing to participate in. It's not enjoyable right now, actually, as I personally believe the end has already begun.

you know i came here in 1992 and you're the exact person i grew to really dislike, the prissy white american, the fakest, ugliest man the planet has ever known.

it's really a pleasure for me to watch you lose your country, every time i blast my ethnic music in a white neighberhood, i get joy out of this.
No, you're crazy because you can't have a normal discussion. You go from 0-bugfuck in a split second. You really could use some help if this is really who you are.
