I agree that Indian cooking provides some great primal recipes. I've been using Madhur Jaffrey's "Invitation to Indian Cooking" since the 1970s. I'm about to order my fourth copy of it; the others have all fallen apart from so much use.
As you said, Indian food is always a hit. My kids love it, and I think that cooking Indian meals for my fiancee is a big reason why she agreed to be my fiancee. lol. Vegetable dishes are especially appreciated: as good as fresh cauliflower is, it's even better with onions and tomato, seasoned with garlic, fresh ginger, turmeric, coriander, cumin, garam masala, and a touch of lemon juice.
Thanks for the tip about Cher Saran. I will definitely get at least one of his books. The okra recipe sounds delicious.
