Hey Gentile, I ate pig kidneys today. You think it's so awesome you ate a sandwich. Big deal. Anybody can eat a sandwich. It takes an iron will and fierce determination to eat something that tastes like urine and has little urine crystals in it. Oh yeah. And no reversal of fortune, either.
As far as your claim to not having a lot of experience with online forums, I call liar liar pants on fire. You're all over the internet, on the barefoot runners forum, Barefoot Ted's huaraches forum and you've got your own barefoot running blog.
Man up. Eat a kidney sandwich and then go for a run in a pair of hiking boots. I dare ya.

I ate a sandwich for lunch of Free the Animal Fat Bread with mascarpone cheese in the middle. I bet my sandwich tasted better and kept me full longer.

Meh... kidneys aren't all that bad.
Most have a distinct flavor, but I've never had one that actually tasted of piss or had urine crystals in it after a good soak.
*shrug*
I though EVERYONE soaked their kidneys in a couple of changes of brine water as a art of the prep., or overnight in milk/buttermilk.
Whole, intact, kidneys are always preferable to cut from a grocery because they are likely to taste fresher... calves and lambs kidneys will be less strong than pork, beef are very tough and loooong stewing or braising is a must.
Add some good fat (bacon grease, or good tallow) when cooking to round out the flavor, they arr pretty lean... use strong flavored herbs and spices with them... like some chili pepper perhaps... to match their flavor profile.
I'd advise a good steak n' kidney pie recipe, BUT...
no more "pie" part.

Nothing wrong with Kidney's
I usually get a few with the carcase, knocked down a few the other night, I just cut them up into small slices across the width, rinse them, then just fry up with some onion & other veg.
nothing ever in them as the Urine is long gone to the bladder.
