Homo sapiens didn't invent cooking with fire, so it's silly to go back further than cooking with fire because there was no us before then.
I seem to have been sucked into a debate about this. I have a friend saying that its healthier to go back before there was fire and we weren't eating meat.

This is a total in the dark guess, but I'd guess meat has been eaten long before there was even fire![]()
