    Recovery from a boken calcaneus (heel bone)

    I broke my calcaneus or heel bone about 3 months ago and still hurts now and again when I walk on it. This is really frustrating to me because I can't do the exercise I want to do.

    Granted my weight my play a factor in this but thats one thing I am working on

    Does anyone have any ideas on how to speed up my recovery or even do exercise like sprints whilst recovering?

    Swimming, biking, stairs, jump rope - none of these put pressure on your heels.

    Search for ways to heal bones faster- probably calcium, Vitamin D, and magnesium for a start. Bone broth is highly recommended around here. I'm sure there are others too. The best thing to do is to get it to heal sooner- it still hurts because there is something wrong with it.

    Otherwise, swimming is great, upper body exercises should mostly all be okay. Can you walk up on your toes? Walking on your toes is slow, but will help you build the calf strength needed for a good natural gait when you run. Walking up hills or stairs works well also.
