On a bright note, I went clam digging with my husband twice, and we both were barefoot the entire time -- bring on the cold adaptation!

Barefoot on the beach! Good title for a chick flick. Or a porn movie.

I love the feeling of barefoot on the beach. Just seems like too much life is spent in shoes.

Slept in/stayed home sick from work.

Just a bit of a weird tickle in the throat/some runny nose. Not really awful, but in my job, I talk all day long. Having a coughing fit in the middle is not a good thing.

I slept until 11 am. Wow. My body, apparently, needed some extra rest for some reason. I'll take it. Now I'm having herbal tea.

Hope you feel better soon. This is a crappy weather week and does nothing to make you feel better.

Woke up feeling actually rested today. And awake. Throat is a lot better.

Now, if I could just get my husband to quit with the chocolate...

All right... I've eaten sardines. Haven't died yet.

They were HUGE ones, too. Much bigger than I remember from when I was a kid... and they had no heads (yay!). I mashed them up with an avocado, surrounded them with red onion, sliced tomatoes, and some feta cheese.

    It's a start, eh?

Shark week. Stuffy head, too. Had a night in a hotel... last night was "make up" sleep, I think.

It's raining. I'm spending my day hunkered down, cuddled in, and letting the brisket do its thing in the crockpot.

    Monday morning...

No matter when I go to bed, when 4:30 rolls around, it feels like I'm not getting enough sleep. *sigh*

I dreamt of getting up in the morning and going for a "fun run" to start my day. Really? wow. Somehow, that didn't happen this morning. Oh well.

WOOO HOOOOO! I just scored a 8-qt ceramic clad cast iron covered roasting pan at Costco (think Creuset-type covered dutch oven), for $80! (Creuset equivalent: 9-qt for $490)

I have wanted one for braising meats in the oven for a long time.

So, I bought some new jeans yesterday, as I only have 3 pair that sorta fit... and the new ones I got are just a tad bit loose. Hmm, I wasn't expecting them to be loose, they are the same brand & size as my other pair that fits pretty perfectly. Yes, I washed them, and put them through the dryer. Loose.

Oh well, now I'll have a nice pair of "shark week" jeans.
