I feel the same way - I want to try crossfit but I'm just not confident that my body can do that at this point! Yay for the self defense class! Try to see if you can start out with some push-ups/squats at home first?
Today has been pretty uneventful, coffee for breakfast, chicken salady thing for lunch, and now some tea. I have self defense class tonight but maybe i'll do the gym afterwards.
I really want to start crossfit but I don't want to be the most out of shape person there. I know that they scale the levels and everything but still, I want to not look like a completely incompetent loser there. How wrong is that do you think? I need more self confidence but that's easier said than done... if only I could just order it off Amazon... along with canned unicorn meat

Push-ups: standard style were a no-go... girl (wussy) style I can do
Planks: are the devil
Squats: I'm pretty good with these... I have strong Viking legs
....don't ask me why my legs are specifically Viking.... I have no idea, but it sounds good so I'm sticking to it.

So start with knee push-ups and possibly knee planks. Don't make it seem "wussy" in your head! It's a start. And keep working on the Viking legs.

I still think that anything with the word 'plank' in it is inherently evil.... maybe if I rename it into something else? There is also the issue of where to do the planks *shudder* and (completely not wussy) knee push-ups. If I do them at home then I become a playground for the animals. I'm pretty sure that their logic is something like this:
Darcy (dog): *OMG OMG Mom's on the floor!!! She must want to play!!! That's definitely a play bow!!!! Look Mom I brought you the squeaky hedgehog!!!! Why aren't you playing with it? You just bite it like this and it squeaks!!! ...you're no fun...I'm just gonna take a nap under you if you won't play*
Dexter (cat): *hmmm you're on the ground... I bet your back would be a nice place for a nap....*
So, to recap, I have a dog curled up under me and a cat napping on my back and every so often attacking my hair....

You and the two of them need to be in different rooms (try closing the bedroom door as a divider...) or go to the gym at a time when no one is there.

So, last night I was craving ice cream/chocolate something fierce and came this close to driving to get some, but then I ended up taking the berries that I had in the fridge and cooking them in a skillet so that the juice had reduced down and everything was all hot and delicious. Then I heated up coconut oil and fried a mixture of coconut flour, egg, cream, and cinnamon until brown and crumbley. I sprinkled it on top of the berries and it was like a wild-berry crumble... and soooo good. Much higher carb than I normally eat, but I figure it was better than eating ice cream and sweets.
