I have four kids and they have affectionately named my primal spaghetti "meat wad". It's easy to make and they love it. Saute onions and whatever other veggies from the CSA. This week it was red bell peppers, onions, garlic, and egg plant. Add peeled tomatoes or canned tomatoes and tomato sauce. I like to add tomato paste to give it some depth, too. Add various herbs from garden out back. This week basil and oregano. Salt Pepper. Brown two pounds of grass fed ground beef. Add to simmering sauce. Serve over spaghetti squash.

Agreed. Ours is typically grass fed ground beef, spaghetti squash, and marinara. I love easy dinners!

I do something an ex of mine dubbed, "Pork 'n' Sauce." It's basically just my old easy chili recipe without the beans and some spinach thrown in for texture. I also do it with ground beef and think of it as Really Sloppy Joes (i.e., no bread).

It's great to read that the kids are liking the good stuff.

YUMMY Meat Wad!!

This is basically the recipe my mother used for spaghetti when I was a child. Especially the tomato paste and sauce. She used fewer (as in none except for onions) fresh ingredients and regular spaghetti, but we loved it because it was a rich meat sauce.

Yes, Meatwad is made entirely of meat. There is no spaghetti in him. I love the one where he gets chopped up into a million mini-Meatwads.
