You log into fit day or whatever and enter in what you eat or plan to eat or whatnot. Takes 5 minutes and a decent memory.

I'm not sure what other details I could get right. I eat whole foods. I exercise. I do bodyweight exercise. I lead a low stress life. I can't eat a lot of calories in a day. If I don't stay on top of it I overeat. If I overeat, I put on weight or don't lose. The cool thing about tracking calories and weight is that I saw the dang correlation with tomatoes.

I don't freak out if my dinner puts me over 1400 calories. It's not "stressful" to weigh out a portion.
This... calories are pretty much the least stressful thing in my life (though I occasionally worry about how low they will end up).
Because you know... that's not exactly contemplating brain surgery.

And that's why I'm here eating HFLC Primal/Paleo.

Sorry, I don't mean to sound snotty. I am just pointing out that meticulous counting is more stressful for some people. You guys seem pretty okay like it's not a big deal, but some people completely depend on those measurements of food and it could stress them out going a little over or under the calorie allotment for the day.

It may be stressful at first, but you learn how do handle it over time- just like cooking might be stressful.

It's actually probably not a bad idea for everyone to do for awhile once they go Primal just to kind of understand what they are eating. I see a lot of posts where people post what they eat and it either seems ridiculously low (I had an egg, a piece of turkey and some greens) or what could be really high (4 eggs, cooked in coconut oil, 4 strips of bacon, brussel sprouts and butter, slab of meat, coffee with kerrygold, and 3 blueberries). Especially if you are switiching over from low fat, high volume it is probably helpful to have an idea if the whole "eat as much as you need"isn't working.

I feel like that should definitely be an obvious judgment call, though. For a meal, even I would consider the latter option extremely decadent and filling, and probably over the top. And I eat more than most. Especially since most people who overeat in the first place do have normal-sized meals that most people would agree are reasonable servings; they just go apeshit over the junky snack foods afterward that add to their caloric totals, something that people living Primally would not do. Please correct me if you think my presumption is wrong.

Stop being a scare-monger by posting unrealistic examples. Hit your macros and micros and eat whatever you want if you have room left over. Simple, enjoyable, and effective.
If you feel better eating refined grains, it's likely because you're reacting better to the high glycemic index and lower fiber content. I enjoy sweet potatoes but the fact is I feel better and bloat less eating white potatoes. Sweet potatoes are much more difficult to digest and have a slower insulin rise. Post workout, high GI can be advantageous. Talk to Lyle McDonald and he'll tell you the best refeeds come from white flour bagels and skim milk. The reality is bagels made with white rice flour instead of white wheat flour and grassfed skim milk instead of regular homogenized milk will work out even better, but few people go to those lengths because you can't buy the rice flour bagels, they taste like shit and grassfed milk is expensive.

I still eat sweet potatoes. Because they taste better to me.

Eat white potatoes or white rice versus white wheat flour. I strongly doubt you'll feel better eating wheat given these options.

I'm not being a "scare-monger." Would you like to see some of the pics currently on the Facebook wall?

That's reality. And that shit'll get your ripped. Because it comes down to calories and macros in the overwhelming majority of cases. Health is an entirely different matter. I don't mind being 12% bf with a fasting blood glucose of 73 on a "high carb diet" according to most Primals, and a 260 lb benchpress at 145 lb body weight and an HDL of 95. I'll lose those numbers eating this shit, and that's not scare-mongering but reality. Your call.

except for the bagel (erm, why is it sticky?) everything else just looks like barf. i can't really fathom what any of it is.
As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans.

Those are glazed donuts being used as a bun, not a bagel.

And good lawd help me... but sweet plus salty/fatty/meaty... Yeah, I can see the 'why' on that one.
It's probably as slap you in the face tasty as it it bad for you.

since you can't tell a donut from a bagel, i'm not exactly shocked at your inability to fathom the other things.
