Oh Geo, that is awesome news! Congratulations!
Getting this job takes a huge burden off my back. I have this sinking feeling winter is going to be bad this year and I didn't want to have to drive on the freeway for 34 miles one way in the snow. Plus, we have all kind of figured that where we are currently working will get rid of almost everyone by the beginning of November. Still not much work. Right now, we are losing on average 1-2 people a week to new jobs.
When I told the girls about this last night, I got a ton of hugs from them as they are excited to have me home in the evenings.
So happy for you. Yeah, I see a bad winter coming on too. Big spiders in my house, Deer developing very dark fur in September etc. We'll see if any of these traditional indicators are true or just old wives tales.
Paula, have you seen any wooly worms in your area? I was with Caitlyn and her bff in a park for a homeschooling get together on Friday and we saw a dark brown and black wooly worm messing around the paths. My sister said she found a wolf spider hanging around her house. I got bit by a spider the other night.
Congrats on the new job! With gas prices so high and what your time spent commuting is worth, $2 will hopefully be a wash financially, and a big plus for the family having you home in the evenings
We have killed 2 wolf spiders in our house in the last week. Today my husband called me over to see a wooly worm. He was huge. Totally black. He had no brown stripe at all.
That's great about the job! Now, you all need to stop talking about this bad winter stuff. It's our first one back up north and I want it to be on the mild side. Don't jinx it!
:O <== My face driving in snow for the first time in a long time.

@Paula, I have killed one-two large spiders a week for the past 4 weeks. A couple of them made me squeal. I'm thinking of getting some crabapples to put out front of the house. I have been told that spiders won't come in homes with those outside of them.
