76 degree.
Ok, so I was reading another post and the poster mentioned a site called soaperschoice.com for bulk quantities of coconut oil. I went on there, but I'm not sure what I'm looking at. There are like five different kinds.
1) 76 degree white food grade
2) 92 degree white hydrogenated
3) Extra virgin QAI certified organic
4) Refined QAI certified organic
5) Fractionated USP Liquid
WTF?
I'm pretty sure the hydogenated means they turned coconut oil into trans fat. The extra vigin is obvious, and I looked up what the QAI certification means. Could someone please clue me in on what the refined, fractionated, and 76 degree food grade ones are all about? I'm lost and trying to figure out which one to buy, and if it's a good deal, but I want to understand what it is I'm buying.
76 degree.

Huh?
76 degree is the one you want to buy for eating.

Thank you. What are the fractionated and refined ones though? Is the refined like the expeller pressed stuff that is as good as the virgin, but without the taste or smell of coconut?
Anyone get an itchy throat when eating coconut oil? I usually just have it plain about 2 teaspoons worth and i notice i get an itchy throat...is that like allergic reaction or something? Doesn't last that long but quiet annoying.
Why that one and not the extra virgin?
I'm curious, because the only one that looked good to me was the extra virgin one, as it seems the least corrupted.
Refined and fractionated seem to be ones I'd stay away from, just because it seems more logical to me to stick with the real deal rather than an oil that's been messed with in some way.

Personally I would choose 3 & 4. Sometimes I dilute my essential oils in fractionated coconut oil, so it's not something I would consider eating.

I've heard extra virgin can't be cooked at higher temperatures, while refined can. On the back of Spectrum Naturals coconut oil it tells you the temperature range an oil can go up to. @ Iron Fireling
Would I be putting a grain-feed cow on a fad diet if I took it out of the feedlot and put it on pasture eating the grass nature intended?
