    Question Post-Surgery Recovery Foods?

    Primal Fuel
    Hi all,

My dad had bypass surgery last Thursday. He will be coming home on Monday and I'll be taking care of him for a few days. I wanted some ideas for good recovery foods for him. A few months prior to surgery he dropped wheat and most dairy and lost 30 pounds, so he's pretty much on the same page as me.
    I was thinking of bringing:

    Bone broth
A free range chicken to make for meals and then more broth
Coconut oil to replace his canola oil
Strong probiotics to mitigate the antibiotic damage
A little raw milk from our cow share

    Anything else I am missing??

the broth is a good idea and pastured organic eggs are versatile and easy to digest.

beware though, his cardiologist may have a very different idea of what dad's post-op and life-time diet should be. have you had this conversation?
As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans.

Pretty sure we are on the same page here. He's mostly a convert. Here's hoping.
