Do not fear the carbs! Especially since you are active. Mark has revised his stance on carbs over the years since he wrote the book, especially regarding starchy carbs. I started experimenting with adding carbs back about two years ago when I started hearing about Leangains and I've gotten great results eating plenty of potatoes, bananas, and even rice on workout days.
