Only sardines and salmon for me from now on but what with my badass spice cupboard I think I will manage. Although nowhere near as bad as vegetable oils, fish oil in fish is susceptible to oxidation so I advocate baking and streaming as cooking approaches and the use of copious amounts of polyphenolic spices and coconut oil.

Stabbing conventional wisdom in its face.

I usually wrap fish together with butter and vegetables in tinfoil and put it in the oven for a while. Keeps all the juices in place and it's perfect for sauce.

When I was a kid we had fish 3 - 4 times a week. At least. I grew up at 70 degrees north in a small fisherman's village.

So what about fresh water fish? I live in the Midwest US and have access to all kinds of fresh water species. Anything wrong with bluegill, crappie, and largemouth bass?

They are all edible I presume, just watch out for local pollutants, heavy metals and parasites.
