Denatured is another word for "cooked" and the protein is just as useful to your body that way. Whey isolate is more pure than Whey "powder" but the difference is minimal unless you are allergic to most dairy. Personally, I think NOW foods makes a good product it is reasonably priced in bulk on Amazon. I'm also going backpacking soon and using some whey powder + whole powdered milk (Nestle NIDO). Not primal, but light, lots of calories, and better than lots of the alternatives.
