Dirk, If you have access to a back yard and some landscaping stones (from a retaining wall) your problems are solved. You can also purchase said stones at home depot for really cheap, and they come in different sizes/weights. I simply take a stone from my retaining wall, ~10-12lbs, I hold it over my head, throw it using alternating arms, do push-ups on it, squat over it and in one motion pick it up and throw it over my head so it lands 15ft behind me (make sure kids and pets are in house) etc etc.
I also dug up a huge flag stone ~25 -30 lbs, I do walking and stationary lunges holding the flag stone at chest level, when I am standing up from the lunge, I push the stone above my head the work my shoulders/back. Both are great work outs. You may look a little funny to the neighbors though... thatís why I said backyard.
