Well, all the more for you!
I LOVE jerky etc and have often played with the idea of making pemmican. I will be very interested in how it turns out!

Hi Folks!
Doing fine. Just really busy this past few weeks. I've really done pretty well eating wise and have been holding at 238-240 for a couple of weeks now. Staying as Primal as possible and not doing too badly. I have a plan regarding Thanksgiving and don't think I'll miss anything too badly except maybe the stuffing. In any case it is one meal in my life and while I will not throw caution to the wind, I won't beat myself up too badly if I deviate too much.
For the first time in several years all my boys will be in attendence. I am looking forward to it.
I hope you all have a nice holiday, those of you who celebrate it!

Sounds good.
I agree with your festivity philosophy. Don't throw caution to the wind, but don't be too uptight about minor deviations. I allow myself cranberry sauce and gravy with my turkey, and enjoy it very much, even if there isn't a lot of it. And I made a primal pumpkin pie. Those are the two things, food-wise, that make it Thanksgiving to me, so that little bit of "deviation" is enough to satisfy me. Besides, SIL makes so much food, by the time I've had a bite or two of all the allowable food, there isn't much room left for the other stuff.
Have a great day with your boys. Savour it and take pictures.

I had a nice holiday, and except for a piece of apple pie (maybe the best one I ever made) I was well restrained in my eating. My older boys (24 and 21) stayed until an hour ago. Boy loves his older Brothers and it was very nice to spend a couple of days with them. Boy had an event this AM with SWMBO and so the older boys and I got to spend some time just the three of us. When I was newly divorced from their Mom we spent lots of time together and it is nice that there is that closeness still evident that time and circumstance has not erased. We went to see "Lincoln" last night and we all loved it.
We didn't do any shopping on Friday but we did observe "Small Store Saturday" and I bought each boy a nice winter coat and some needed clothing items from the store here in town, expensive, but worth it to support local small stores. We had fun. They are both growing up to be fine young men and I enjoy being with them.
Tomorrow I'll begin exercising again. I'm beginning to feel slow and lethargic again. It may well be that my eating Has been less than ideal, but really, it hasn't been all that bad. I think that I just need to get back walking daily and doing some strength exercises. Better get to it before the snow flies.
I hope you all had a nice holiday, well, those of you who observe it.
I'll begin posting more regularly on Monday. Tomorrow we go to see a stage show in Hartford of "How the Grinch stole Christmas" and then dinner (leftovers) at the Outlaws.

We've had our first snow here. I woke up to it this morning.

I had 3 days away from Primal.... now I am back at it. I can make all the excuses, but the truth is, with 14 extra people at my home for about 5 days, I just didn't want to eat primal. But I am back on track, and about to figure out what will be our primal dinner tonight.
Glad you made it through relatively unscathed.

Ugh. I guess I am doing okay. Eating is fine. My car was broken into and my Macbook and Boys iPod were stolen, while we were at Boy's soccer practice. Dunno why the car alarm didn't sound. :-(
My (Seasonaly adjusted) good will toward Men is at an all-time low right now.
Life was simpler when I could just drink these problems away. But I'll be strong and move forward. It's just stuff.
Expensive Stuff. But just Stuff.

I am so sorry to hear that. It just shakes you when stuff like this happens. I am hoping something good will happen to counterbalance this bad thing.
Remember those problems are still there when the drink wears off...been there!
