The sweet potato is fine, chances are they were fried in canola oil or some other frankenoil which makes them iffy.
I've been on the PB for a little over a week and couldn't be more satisfied. I don't really crave any of my old foods and have been perfectly happy eating my fill of meats and vegetables. I do, however, eat half a sweet potato now and then do to my running, etc. I have some sweet potato chips in my cupbord and wondered what the consensus was on these and other vegetable chips.

Better than the last sweet potato chips I saw, first ingredient was corn.

Every time I eat those premade sweet potato chips (even from reputable sources) I end up with digestive distress...I assume the oils. If I slice sweet potatoes and fry in coconut oil I have no issues. That is enough of an experiment for me!
Frying them yourself in coconut oil is beyond awesome.
If you are new to the PB - please ignore ALL of this stuff, until you've read the book, or at least http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-blueprint-101/ and this (personal fave): http://www.archevore.com/get-started/
