I actually have to announce that nobody, save Jesus Himself, may get up from the dinner table early, and if they truly needed whatever thing it is that they Just Cannot Dine Without, the person in question should have remembered to set the table with the thing in question, dad-gummit! Otherwise, my people pop up and down from their chairs like a life-size Whack-a-Mole game.

You know those Regency romances I read? Well, they may have had a good thing going there when the small fry weren't allowed to dine at the adult table until their manners were just so - otherwise, it was another meal in the nursery with the governess for them!!
I have a mantra that I have spouted for years... "If I eat right, I feel right. If I feel right, I exercise right. If I exercise right, I think right. If I think right, I eat right..." Phil-SC

You do realise, you and I would have been the poor governesses.

We tell small boy that the only thing he can leave the table for is to go to the loo. It doesn't matter what you're doing - go *before* you're busting...

Crap. I hadn't thought of that. And an affair with the duke wouldn't change anything - just get me fired by the duchess, at which point I would be pining for ANY dinner from the comfort of some gutter...

Dear Journal - I have been ignoring you lately, but it will have to wait a wee bit longer, perhaps until this evening... Third has been having issues again (three doctor visits in the last week, a week off from school, etc.), and I was embarrassed to write as I have been doing some non-Primal eating around the edges that has affected the waistline some more.

Hope all out there on the MDA are truckin' along smoothly!

Hey CC... If eating non-primal is the MOST embarrasing thing you ever do.... you are living a good life.... take it from someone that has done so REALLY foolish things......

Chuckles and giggles... thanks! Yea, I am a bit on the squeaky clean side - comes from a loooong time spent as a Latter-day Saint, and they kinda' foster this in their membership. Worst I ever have done is truly accidentally walk in on (get this) my then-current high school boyfriend, my then-ex boyfriend (who was also a good friend to the boyfriend), and my very good friend, all three of them lined up in a row at the urinal going about their urinally business. We all were in the HS marching band, were on an out-of-state competition trip, and were hosted by a local high school where we slept, and I got turned around in the unfamiliar hallways and just didn't think to check for the "this is the BOYS loo" sign. Not much, eh? But it did make me blush like a champ at the time!

    Seriously abbreviated journal post...

For you American public schooled band/music geeks - Second got a "I" rating on piano at the Ohio Music Educators Assn (OMEA) High School Solo and Ensemble contest this past weekend. We had that experience with First already last year (she also got a "I".) Seriously nice - I did the same on French horn solo and brass quintet and hubby did it on tuba solo and brass quintet as well (we were in the same quintet at the same time - yeah, we go back a looooong ways, hubby and I), so it is generational now!

Third's ongoing problem is this: after three doctor visits and three different prescriptions (all scrips and two of the pediatrician visits being wrong diagnoses - the dermatologist specialist we sought out finally nailed it) we find out she has a royal case of pityriasis rosea. Google that one - she looks not nice under her clothing and itches a lot. Three weeks into it and the rash is still spreading.

I finally personally own YAYOG and BBY from Mark Lauren - was getting them from the library before. Now all I need to do is actually begin...

Bought a Boston fern for my bath. Someday I will have a fern garden, inside and out. Love ferns, I do.

Fourth got her ears pierced for the first (and only) time. She now looks at herself often in mirrors. Methinks she likes finally having gotten up the gumption to do it, and how the starter earrings look. (They are cute.)

Hubby is heading off to Baton Rouge this week. I hope there is crawfish in my immediate future!!
