I have both Merrells and VFFs. I love the VFFs for everything. Except, I break my pinkie toes pretty damned easily in them. I have had it happen several times to both of 'em. The Merrells are very good as well, but like Wanderlust said - condom vs no-condom.

new studies are coming out that vibrams are bad for your knees if you run. Even your ankles. Causing fast snap like pronation and bad angles. The one thing that they sell, no cushion, is the thing that hurts them. Vibrams arent for everybody. This site is full of people who decide not to believe things. Its like once they found out that the CW diet was a hack, everything became a hack. There are lots of people against Vibrams. I dont know who to believe, but its worth some looking into on your part. Remember, Mark probably gets a pay cheque to endorse these grok looking shoes. He IS a business man.

Yeah, that makes total sense because our feet and knees are designed to walk/run in cushy shoes with 1" heels.

My pinky toe doesn't go into the last toe slot in my Vibrams either. After a week of trying to force it, I just let it snuggle in with the toe next to it. Feels much better.

My pinky toes does not really go into the hole alloted for it, my toe is a bit too small.

Oh, that's not really a big deal, it would be a problem if your toes were too big. The holes are made a little big to fit a lot of people.

I went with the vibram's, and did a 3.2 mile run stopping at intervals to do various exercises. So far I like them got a couple small blisters on my right foot but nothing serious, guess the shoes just take a little time to adjust.

Take it slow with them, you will hurt yourself by not transitioning slowly. It took me 6 months to get fully moved over to VFF.

I would make love to my V's if they were human. Seriously, I just tried on a new pair of komodos after being in mine since October and it was like getting into bed with an old lover. SWEET! And amazing. Of course.

I can't imagine being back in toe corsets. I shudder at the thought.

All the problems I was having as a runner in regular running shoes (Brooks, etc), went away when I switched to Vibrams. Knee pain = gone. Me = faster, stronger, more efficient because of my V's.

ETA: if you're rubbing in Vs or getting blisters, try talc-ing them with Anti Lady Monkey Butt and slicking up your toes with blister block. Works like a dream for me.
