I continue to be in awe of your schedule! I hope being primal helps you cope with it. I've been thinking about getting a massage - I have some annoying tightness in my shoulders that won't go away. Might be time to splurge...

Primal helps in that I'm not so exhausted. Sometimes it makes life frustrating when food is provided at functions. I've started saying I'm gluten and grain sensitive, but the grain part really throws people. For some reason they eliminate all protein! I have to admit I get regular massages when I'm home I've got a deal set up for a discount if I go every other week. I carry my stress in the shoulders and lower back. I can really tell when I've not been getting my massage regularly - its my indulgence and me time.

Night clinic was okay last night. I saw 7, nothing difficult. I'm back there Friday. Hoping my luck holds out. I like to be steady - not crazy busy.

Today I've got my massage, then off to the university. Getting summer classes graded to post grades next week and fall classes ready to start in three weeks. I really need to start the paper I've got due Sunday - lousy directions from the instructor so I'm avoiding it.

5 hours of sleep last night. Had a lovely salpicon last night for dinner (shredded spicy meat, lettuce, onion, chili, avocado). Probably a protein shake today since I've got class.

When you put it that way, I think massages might be a necessity! Although I think my personal indulgence is going to be employing a housecleaner a couple of times a month. Even in this small place, I can't keep up. I'm just not good at it. (Hmmm, can I afford a housecleaner and massages?)

Find a massage therapist you like and negotiate a discounted rate if you book regularly or pre-pay for a certain number. I have to admit that I have someone come weekly to clean the monster house (6000 sq. ft.). I also have someone to do the lawn and weeding. My son does the dead heading and is in charge of cleaning out the refrigerator. Maybe when I slow down, I will take back some chores, but in the scheme of things housework, yard work, and laundry are not what makes me feel complete! I'd rather do volunteer work when I've got time.

So for class tonight we had to present a photo voice of opportunities to be healthy or barriers to health. I followed a vegetarian who raved about the spiritual aspects. I started out discussing travel and gluten free then stated I'm grain free. Then I mentioned primal blue brint and another student said paleo? I was thrilled, educated 7 on the diet. We shall see......

Felt wonky yesterday. Was glad they found someone to cover my shift at the clinic. Slept 3 hours late afternoon, then up for some chicken soup. Slept 9 hours last night. Feel better today - still tired. Teach for 8 hours today, but tomorrow I can sleep in, then i fly home Monday.

Dad's spot on his heart was a failed graph from his quad by-pass. He has a cardiac cath scheduled Tuesday. To "see" what's going on. Mom is still trying to get her medications titrated for the A-fib, so is feeling tired. DH has been checking on them while I'm out of town.

Hey, I am all for help around the house! With a schedule like yours, you should not be mowing the lawn and cleaning windows in your spare time. I have a friend who has a massage therapist, a local person, she swears by her. I've always just let it go over my head as I thought I couldn't afford it, but I will get her name. I am pretty sure she has packages or coupons or something to save $$$$ for regulars - I'm sure I have heard my friend mention that.

Finished class tonight, totally exhausted. Weird occipital lymph node, flu-like symptoms and headache. Class full of NPs say they are pretty sure I've got west Nile. 4 deaths around my house, good thing I'm healthy!

Slept 14 hours, got up and ate bacon, eggs, strawberries, and pineapple with coffee. Still have body aches, low fever, and headache. My students are taking turns texting me to check on me. They don't like that I'm in a hotel by myself with west Nile. Only 20% get sx and only 1% get the encephalopathy, but even so they are nurses and they worry. Home tomorrow. Fix tooth Tuesday before going to clinic. Dad has cardiac cath Tuesday also. Wednsday paper due. Thursday clinic. Sunday paper due. Here goes the gerbil on a wheel feeling again!

Forgot to mention son #3 was a passenger in a car that was hit head on by another car going 50 mph. He's okay, but really I'm ready for some good news!!

I wish I had some good news to tell you! West Nile!!!!! I'm always making jokes about getting West Nile because I have about a thousand mosquito bites. I'm going to stop joking about that now.

Hey, good on you for educating the students about paleo! Changing the world a little at a time -
