I can't imagine trying to feed a family primal. Honestly, I really can only justify it because I rarely eat out and I also am willing to spend a fair amount of my disposable income on food. I spend roughly twice as much as I used to on food! But I am much less wasteful and much, much healthier.

Um, yeah, expensive. I'm caught in that vortex of buying primal for hubby and I, plus most main family meals, with grassfed/pastured when I can, plus the boys still want carb/grain stuff, so I get some of that too. To be totally primal for everyone and have enough stuff ready to grab, I'd be batch cooking forever, and I'm not doing that. Plus they get bored of the same stuff after a couple of days. I don't think my grocery bill has changed much since going primal, more of some quality stuff, less of other stuff, but perhaps it's more overall as those boys are just getting bigger. I'm pretty much feeding 4 adults plus the occasional adult sized friend.

I've just refused to buy their junk. If they want it, they buy it - but I'm down to DH and son #2!

Yesterday the clinic was crazy. Lunch was brought by a rep - I picked the meat and cheese off the bread and had that pickles and my cheese, salami, red bell pepper. Dinner was eggplant and leftover spaghetti sauce from earlier this week. Latte (my pic) has escaped twice from the backyard , so this morning I was off to the neighbors to retrieve her. Thankfully we have a small group and we've exchanged info including dog names and descriptions. I then put a pork butt in the slow cooker with spices (eating it a lot, but its been on sale and is fatty and can be used many ways). Paid bills, scheduled smoosh the girls flat o-gram, followed up on an on-going issue, sent emails, now just need to do a bank run, hair appointment, and go by the office store. Boys will have corn tortillas, pork, avocado, cheese, sour cream salsa and I will have all but tortillas. I still have two presentations to finish for school, but they are percolating in my noggin. I'm sure I will get them done tomorrow. For the month of January (with 1/2 spent traveling) I managed to drop 4 inches in my waist, 2 in the girls, and hit a low of 165. I'm off Sunday for 10 days in Utah, I've contacted the hotel so should have mini fridge in room. Hopefully they will have stuff I can and want to eat in the concierge lounge. Okay, off to finish chores....

Slept great, lazy morning two coffee with HWC. Homework (presentation and handouts) for Monday morning done. Still don't know what I'm doing for the Tuesday 10 minute presentation. Pack list complete. Two chickens bubbling away in slow cooker with lemon, rosemary, and garlic. Laundry done. Probably will get suitcases out, pack books, shoes, toiletries, and pick out outfits later tonight. Will finish packing clothes tomorrow morning. Heard back from hotel - eggs in the morning (asked about Greek yogurt, keeping fingers crossed) and cheese and veggies in evening (my lunch the next day). Supposed to snow when I'm there.

Once again I am astounded by your activity level and accomplishments! And congrats on the smaller numbers, which is truly a big deal!

And thanks for the ideas - I have to go to a conference on Wednesday and I have been wondering what to take for food. Luckily lunch is not provided so I don't have to call attention to myself by not eating whatever carbohydrate frenzy they would feed us. (That sort of thing always involves a big fluffy bun and potato chips.) My friend left two salami and some very nice cheese. That and some berries should do the trick.

I like to add a sliced red pepper - crunch and sweet!
