3 1/2 hours later and the research proposal presentation is done and posted with handouts printed. It's 3 and so far I'm not fading. I did take 2 more EST. Relaxing for a bit and then will start dinner. While it's cooking, I will cohort stuff to pack.

Steak was good. Sautéed some onion in butter to go with. Kale sautéed in bacon fat and steamed with some chicken broth. Potatoes both soft and crunchy. All sides were delicious. My seconds were veggies only.

Moved my CD stuff back to den, just in case I wake up early morning. That way I can start working on my presentation.

Yup up at 0330! Deep sleep until almost 3 then popped up awake. Tomorrow will be interesting with travel. Oh well, as long as I get on the plane, I can sleep for the entire 3 hour flight.

I did well with the EST yesterday until about 5, I took 1/2 T3 then, 1 at 8, 1/2 at 930, and 1/2 right now. I couldn't get comfortable - my abdomen where she sewed the muscles together like a corset kept hurting. Obviously I did something to pull the internal stitches and/or muscles.

I know this sounds weird, but I can't wait to be cleared to really excercise. I walk, slowly and not really for long periods yet, but I want to do some arm and core work.....squats maybe. Since the girls are smaller and I won't give myself a black eye anymore, I might start jogging off and on or at minimum working on sprints.

Plans for today are finish CD presentation, pack, shower/hair, cook dinner. We are having cilantro lime shrimp ala Well Feed, with cole slaw and some sort of potato (I've got fingerlings that need using up before I go).

It doesn't surprise me that you wanting to exercise. You've just undergone a huge change. I'm glad you're taking pain meds as needed - as you well know it will help you heal better.

I'm actually a huge whiny baby when it comes to physical pain/surgery/disability etc. Perhaps this comes from having not had to deal with much of it, or maybe it's just a character flaw.

I never thought I would need/want pain meds this long. My previous experience with pain - childbirth - resulted in 4 natural (no drug) deliveries. I think the difference is I knew the contraction would end. With this, I have no clue as to length of pain.

Drizzling and 57 here. It's down right nippy!

Yes, and you get a baby at the end! The outcome of surgery, while positive, is not nearly so well defined.
