    Primal Fuel
    About 6 hours sleep with light>deep. Got new scale yesterday. My old one was a liar - enough said. Cracking down on myself. I'm tired of cheating, feeling bad, sleeping poorly, and not loosing weight. I know I'm trying to self medicate with food (better than alcohol - been there) and I'm ready to move on. I need to get out of this funk - semi-depression. Leftovers today for boys. Primal fuel shakes for me - I need to shock the system. I have got to pay bills, balance the check book, re-organize my desk, and work on a paper. I'm planning on putting on some music and getting out the sledge for some quality time together. Might try Barre3 also. Trying for no nap today - need to get my sleep back on track. Will report on if I complete the list.

    I had typed out a big long entry here and then lost it! Oh well, probably meant not to be. I'm definitely feeling the summer doldrums myself and slept for awhile this afternoon in my cave strictly to escape the heat. You, however, are different. I am in awe of your ambition, drive, and dedication to both your career and your family. You have been through a lot in the past few months with really no recovery time. I'm glad you can come here and put things in your journal and that it is helpful. I know it is for me, both being able to articulate things and for the support of the people here. I hope Juliet is being very good to you!

    Thanks Siobhan. I just feel blah, sleeping too much or not enough, and making poor (read childhood comfort) food choices. The irritability I feel around DH is part of it. I think you are right about a lot in a short time, but understanding why doesn't get the chores done. I will try breaking things down into smaller chunks. I've got a massage Monday - hopefully that will help!

    Massage canceled - her new shop isn't ready yet. Obviously up because I can't sleep. Went thru mail. Updated check register (must pay bills today). Drinking camomile. Hoping for sleep.

    Hope you got some good sleep. On my nights off, I am getting in the habit of going to sleep early, then waking with the felines at 4 AM, feeding them, and then going back to sleep. That second sleep is always the better quality.

    Of course, this is of no use whatsoever to you, but there it is. Have some fun today!

    Went back to sleep for about 3 hours. Finally got the bills paid. Target shopping done. Spent about an hour on Skype with one of my school buddies. I feel a bit more upbeat now.

    I primalized sesame chicken in the slow cooker and had mine over cauliflower-rice. A nice Chardonnay and some of the evil salted carmel gelato. Hoping to sleep well tonight. Paper tomorrow. Maybe a facial with shoulder massage - I'm really tight and don't feel comfortable going to a different masseuse due to flashbacks from a bad experience in college. I've got hamburger steaks thawing for tomorrow and will broil asparagus and cauliflower to go with. Okay, off to read and unwind for a bit.

    Slept 9+ hours with deep=light. I don't really remember the couple of wake periods it recorded until 0500. Actually feel pretty good. I'm going to be lazy until DH goes to work, then get my paper written. I'm gradually increasing my walk goal on the Up, so today I'm going up again. Eventually I will hit 10,000 steps per day! I think I'm coming out of my funk, slowly. I've ordered some tea and a supplement, as well as two cognitive therapy books. Tomorrow clinic, laundry, and packing. Wednesday I'm on the road again.

    Talking about up bad massage experiences from college... I've actually never been to a "real" masseuse. But I dated a women in college who was in training to be a masseuse. She taught me massage as she learned it. I was a most willing test subject and got pretty good at it myself. It was wonderful.

    Of course, being 20-something, our mutual massage practice nearly always turned to sex and I guess in my mind I have always associated massage with foreplay and growing fat in the intervening years, I have always thereafter shied away from massage.

    One of my promises to myself when I get to a good weight is to get a massage and to break through that particular barrier.

    Good luck on the road, I'm home until September, unless something comes up!
