I get hungry every time I read your journal. Oh, and will you take one or two of my felines to the vet along with Juliet? They are due for their wellness check, but have I found time to take them? No, I have not.

Although the cost of personal training does make me blanch, it is not so much the $$$ as just doing it. Just sending the email to the trainers I have scouted out and making that first step. Always the hardest thing for me.

Thanks Siobhan, I've got mushrooms cooking in butter, zucchini with Parmesan cheese in the oven and baked some potatoes to load with butter and sour cream (I look at them as a vehicle and would be happy with just the skin). I will grill the flak steak that's been marinating for two days when I get home from the vet. I'd take the cats, but Juliet is difficult enough by herself. I got blueberries, strawberries, grapes, watermelon, and honeydew to cube and toss with lime juice and poppy seeds for tomorrow. The makings for guacamole (I've discovered sweet potato chips ) and German potato salad. Both to take tomorrow.

Ai yi yi, sweet potato chips! I love those! And everything else. I don't normally eat potatoes because they don't like me, but I wonder about just the skin....hmmmm. Might have to test that.

I like the skin of a baked potato broiled with butter and then sour cream. Homemade potato skins!

Slept 7+ hours deep>light. Fireworks last night right behind the house, which did not go over well with Juliet. She was under our covers until they finished. Waiting for DH to get up. He's supposed to help with the salads.

GPS made. Fruit salad made from strawberries, blueberries, grapes, stevia, poppy seeds, and fresh lime juice done. Will mash some avacado for guac right before we go. Taking the girls, so they won't have to suffer loud noises alone.

Dinner was great. Ribs, sausage, guac with sweet potato chips, GPS, cole slaw, beans - none for me, chocolate cake - none for me, fruit salad, and wine. All very good. Gave Juliet a doggy Prozac. If thunder is scary, imagine fireworks. She is mellow and sleeping on my bed.

My late, great beloved corgi was terrified of fireworks, it was so hard to see her suffer. I tried all sorts of things, but nothing ever helped.

I might need to make some ribs...mmmm...ribs...

I'm happy to report the doggy Prozac worked. She slept on DH pillow during the worst of it without any anxiety. Normally she would have been pacing, looking for a hiding place, and trembling the entire time. I'm not sure she liked how it made her feel, but for her nerves the side effects (unsteady walk, clingy) were worth it.

I do my ribs either in the oven or crock pot. I'm trying these next 5-Spice Slow-Cooker Pork Ribs | theclothesmakethegirl

So obviously I'm up. Couldn't sleep. My small reading light wasn't working well and I didn't want to disturb DH (he works today) so I got up. Will make a cup of calm tea and read for a bit. I probably will go back to bed when he gets up.

On the school front, I've got two papers to write that I've been putting off. I need to get into the writing zone and crank them out.

Still have to finish cleaning my office. Need to pay bills and I think it's check book balancing time again. Maybe I'm feeling unsettled because I'm not on top of everything right now? I just felt like I needed a break the last few months (truthfully since the whole CA scare). I think it was a wake up call to what do I want to do with my life and why am I doing certain things. If I wasn't so close to finishing, I would question why the second doctorate. Okay, now its way to philosophical for this early in the morning. Off for tea and light reading!
