Have used coconut flour, but haven't tried flax meal. Seems as if it would be pretty good, though.

I've used it once for frying. It was nasty. I don't recommend it. Stick to using it for muffins & stuff.

The PUFAs in flaxmeal will oxidise very quickly when frying. May as well just fry in vegetable oil

thanks for the replies. where can one get the coconut oil that isdoesn't taste like or smell like coconut? i've heard of it,but don't recall the product name. i hate coconut taste, except in the likely toxic coconut shrimp sold in many restaurants.

    I don't use flax products.

The March of Dimes warns against women who are pregnant or trying to get pregnant from eating flax, as in animal trials it has negatively affected reproduction.
I've heard the same thing from several dog breeders: when they fed dog-food or supplements with flax, they had problems with breedings being successful; when they nixed the flax, no more problems.

It also makes me wonder what else is going on in the body if it is affecting reproduction.
