Cavequeen, back in my Army days we used to wear the same uniform for at least a week b/c pressing was so expensive... I wonder if I could get away with wearing the same pants for 5 days in a row now that I'm in an office setting, but still working for the Army...

I'm wrapping up my Whole 30 on the 25th of July. It's been an easy transition for me, although I've always eaten clean. I have many social functions to attend (1-2/weekly) and I devise a plan, in advance, for each of those. Last weekend for a brunch following a 16km run with friends. The brunch is a yearly event and lots of carbs (runners love carbs). Knowing there would be few choices for myself, I finished my walk/run and went home to shower (that was my excuse). Once I got home, I fired down 3 eggs, showered and made it back to the brunch, just in time for the food to be served. Without letting anyone 'in on my new primal plan,' I had a serving of bacon, a touch of yogourt, and a few berries. I mix and mingle with a cup of coffee in one hand, and a bottle of water in the other, and no one noticed a thing. Success!

This Saturday is an outdoor BBQ party. I should be fine with meats and no doubt there will be a salad. I don't bring up the Primal lifestyle as I don't like attention to be drawn to myself, and I don't feel inclined to counter arguments from friends about why grain is good for us, or why I shouldn't give up cheese etc.....

There is always alcohol served at each event, and I either have water (in place of beer), or in the evening I'll have a glass of red wine. Not a big deal for me to decline 'off limit foods'. I'm focused on losing the remainder of these 14 lbs and I keep my eye on the prize!

I think I may write a blog specifically on tactics to avoid eating food porn at social events --- without drawing attention to yourself.

    /cheers/Louisa

Yay for everyone's successes! I am indeed bailing. Well, the bailage has already happened. I had some rice with dinner last night and potatoes for breakfast this morning and I feel SO much better. More energy, less nausea.

Good luck everyone! I will be back to the Whole30 once I hit my second trimester, I think, around mid-September. Enjoy the rest of your Whole30s!!!

Doing well with cooking and staying on plan. However, I feel like I am constantly cooking, planning meals to keep my family fed plus eat on plan myself. Not to mention a lot more dishes to wash. I guess as I get more used to eating this way it will become easier, and I have always cooked a lot anyway to keep my family of 5 fed.

I'm most definitely NOT pregnant, but I think I'm going to have to postpone this as well. The timing is just terrible. I went into a mild tailspin the past couple of days and turned into a 3-year-old in a candy store (literally) and then came home and became a plain old bitch. I realized my brain is still doing some healing, and the stress isn't doing me any good. On top of that, it's freaking hot outside (where I work) and we still don't know how long we'll have our jobs.

So... in the interest of mental health and family relations, I'm going to have to quit for now. I still think it's a great idea, and I know I'll be trying again later, but it's just not a good time right now.

I know how you feel! Our a/c in our house not working that well so after making stovetop carnitas and sweet potato fries I was feeling a bit grumpy from heat as it was like 85 in the house and probably higher in the kitchen. Of course, I could have just had my crew eat salads and tell them to tough it out so my own fault for being an overachiever. I like to cook delicious meals and I have free time right now as I am off for the summer from work. ( If you call being home with three messy boys, a vacation!)

As long as it is a plain pair of of pants, they probably won't notice if you change out top, earrings. Most people aren't that observant and if they are you can brag you don't have anything to wear because you have lost so much weight.

Day 6- going to have to run to grocery store for more supplies, my DH eat the last of my guacamole (with chips no less) right in front of me and my kids are sneaking my berries (I guess that's a good thing) Maybe a lock for the refrigerator as well! Lol Feel like my body is taking a break from losing weight right now after having lost a few lbs, why can't I just lose steady instead of in spurts. I'm too impatient for that! On the upside I was able to fit into some capri pants that were a bit tight so there has been some progress but my favorite pair of miss me capris are still too tight that I lived in 2 years ago.

I could just tell them that I loved the pants so much I bought 5 pairs all in black so I don't have to figure out what to wear each day... the Army was easy - all your clothes looked the same so there was no problem picking out what to wear. lol

They'd probably think I was nuts if I did that. lol

Day 19 for me. Doing swell. Down 9 lbs. YAY!! When I started this whole 30 I was up 3 lbs from a week of bad eats and drinks. I was hoping that I could quickly lose those 3 lbs and then get back on track and finish my whole 30 with an additional 10 lbs lost (I lost 10 lbs in June when I did it for only 3 weeks). I was hoping the 4th week would allow me to make it to 13 lbs lost.

I have 11 days left. I think I can do it. I think in the next 11 days, I can lose those last 4 lbs and make it to 186... that'll put me 3 lbs away from my first mini-goal. How exciting!!
