I have heard that too about the working out the DOMS, that is why I love my foam roller....
Yes, I do snatches with my "bad" shoulder. The surgery was successful, but I've been very careful about rehab--there's NO way I want to go through that again! (Initial injury was from a car wreck.) I'm just very careful with technique and the weight I use... I'm not out to impress anyone, I just want to be able to scoop up the grandkid and run away from the escaped zoo lion!
I made my own foam roller with a short length of PVC pipe (4" diameter), an old yoga mat cut to fit, and duct tape. Works a charm, all for about $2.50 in supplies!
You make your choices, and you live with them. In the end, you are those choices.
