    This week's progress picture will be posted on Wednesday. =) I can't wait to obsess over it!

    I'm feeling stronger. I'm starting to feel tiny little proto muscles developing in my arms because of all of the push ups that I've been doing. Yesterday I helped Husband to heave the canoe up onto the top of the car and then down to the ground multiple times. And we went canoeing too. We were against the wind for about a kilometer there, but the return trip was fabulous and lazy and stuff.

    I really loved an article I saw at nerdfitness.com called How to Level Up in the Game of Life. So I took up the idea. I've created a Google document with the four areas I want to work on:

    Then, for each area of interest, I created specific, time-bound, repeatable achievements and gave them each a point value. These point values range from 10 points (take a fish oil supplement) to 10,000 (go one month without buying anything).

    As a SAHM who works part time, this system really gives shape to my day. Less watching of crime dramas on BBC. More e-mailing family members, more calisthenics, more green tea, more singing to my son, more composing of music.
    And so forth.

    Right now I am a level 9 composer, a level 8 family member and friend, a level 5 bad ass mom (ouch), and a level 7 well/happy person. Maybe today I'll focus on my son a little more and try to get my score up.

    Also, if you can think of specific, repeatable tasks that I could add to my "mom" section (like sing him a song, play with him for five minutes, take him to the park...), feel free to send them along to me. Sam is five months old and very interested in interaction right now!

    I have been thinking about my exercise schedule, and I think that for the next week, I will try this one:

    M-W-F=planks, squats, pull ups, push ups (sprints on Mondays)
    T-R-Sa=balancing exercises and walking for a mile or longer.
    Sundays off.

    My balance really, really, really sucks, but my first foray into balance training felt like PLAYING. I like playing. =)

    I have recently been inspired by Al Kavadlo's blog, and now one of my goals is to perform the human flag. Calisthenic and bodyweight bad assery is for the win!

    Very clearly working! i like the photo montage you made. Very easy to compare before and after. If there is this much difference after a month, what will there be after 6 months?
