One non-salad way to enjoy your veggies is grilling them, like potato chips. Zuccini, turnips, eggplants and peppers take on the whole new dimension under the broiler when they meet butter or olive oil and sea salt.

Thanks Leida, Annana and Drumroll. Doesn't bacon count as a dangerous kind of meat though?

Never even heard of bacon fat! I like sweet potatoes, sweetcorn, lentils, chickpeas, runner beans, green beans, peppers. I'm OK with lettuce and cucumber. Still feel scared of fat but can get over that if I cut the grains.

    ... You're doing it on purpose, aren't you ?
Potatoes, sweetcorn, lentils, chickpeas...etc are NOT vegetables.

Stick with that, start experimenting with fats, and slowly start dropping off first the corn, than the legumes (chickpeas and lentils). Try other tubers, like turnips, beets, rutabaga and jikama. It will take time, but if you are willing to take it slow, and not rush into things, and try new stuff, you will do just fine. It's not like you have to be Primal by next Wednesday.

Haha, no, knew potatoes weren't but thought the others were-suppose lentils and chickpeas are legumes, although tbh don't know what a legume is. Back to the drawing board.

And legumes are not part of the paleo nutritional philosophy for good reasons.

You should read the articles of the site before posting, honestly. It's full of knowledge.

Almost nothing on your list of foods that you eat is primal. Throw out everything.

    Eat:

Meat: Real meat. Beef. Chicken with the skin on. Fish with the skin on. Pork chops. Liver.
Vegetables: Leafy greens, big salads, all different colors and kinds. Chickpeas are not vegetables. We're talking cold, moist things.
Roots and tubers: sweet potatoes, celery root, carrots, squash, yams etc.
Fruit: That pretty sweet stuff that mostly grows on vines and trees.

    Do not eat:

    Vegetable oils
    Grains, pasta, seeds
    Beans and peas
    Soybeans in any form
Sugar or sweeteners of any type or anything with sweeteners in it
Anything that comes in a package with ingredients you can't pronounce easily
Anything with MSG, hydrolized vegetable protein, hydrolized yeast extract, natural flavors (all of that is MSG)

Eat only that and nothing else. Don't count calories or carbs. Report back in one month how it went.
Female, 5'3", 49, Starting weight: 163lbs. Current weight: 135 (more or less).
    I can squat 180lbs, press 72.5lbs and deadlift 185lbs

Dangerous how? Some are preserved with Sodium Nitrates. IF you can't find any without nitrates (check with local farmers/butchers), you can make your own bacon (RECIPE: Easy, Homemade, Chemical-Free Bacon | Butter Belle) A simple recipe. OR You can also just get some pork belly without making it as bacon (Slow Roasted Pork Belly – Modern Paleo) another simple recipe. Also, bacon is not required.
