I gave birth 8 months ago. My abs were separated and until they heal I have to do specific exercises (pelvic tilt and crunches with a towel wrapped around my tummy). It's getting better, but hasn't heal completely yet (at first there was a four-fingers gap and now it has decreased to two fingers). Can I do the plank or is it going to make things worse?
My doctor told me to avoid any movement that pushes the muscle out.

I gave birth 3 years ago and still have separated abs, they will never go back now so I just exercise as normal.
Thanks for the aswer sarahz. The idea of having a hollow in my belly really makes me feel weird
