What does MDA think of the music I make?

I've been here for a little while now, but I don't think I've really mentioned much about what I do! With that said, I just released a new single of mine, and it's streaming over at Alternative Press. If you want, you can go check it out here: APTV Premiere: Tarek Kasmi, “Hail To The King” (Lyric Video)

Genre-wise, the best description I can give is pop/rock with a little bit of a retro, rock-and-roll kinda vibe. It's definitely on the poppier side of things.

So, if you have a minute, take a listen and let me know what you think! I'd love to have some input from other paleo/primal/real-food enthusiasts. All comments and criticisms are welcome.

Pretty catchy and well produced. Sounds kind of like a teenagers-on-a-road-trip montage or background for a soda commercial. Probably not what you were aiming for; that's just what I saw in my head.

I thought it was pretty good.

Is this song dedicated to the sheeple?

    Needs more cowbell.

I did like the line about mystery meat though.

If you write a song in this style about bath salts, and face eating that would be nice.

The sicker, more disturbing, gruesome, and depraved the lyrics are the better I think it will work with this sunny bright catchy pop sound.

Songs about gynecological surgery gone wrong would suit this style well.

Haha! Not exactly what I was aiming for, but I wouldn't be opposed to licensing this song for films/commercials like that! Probably not a soda commercial, though, that'd be against my morals.

    Lmfao. A+ post. I'm guessing you're into goregrind/death metal?

Glad you liked it -- that's exactly what the song's about! Most of my music deals with that kind of subject matter, actually.

Yeah, not bad at all. Catchy and worth a listen for sure.
somehow I manage to leave my intelligence and decorum at the door wherever I go. I doubt your journal will be an exception to that - not on the rug

The lyrics are way too brainy to be mainstream.

I don't know. It gave me that Sublime vibe. Where their music sounds like you should be sitting on the beach drinking umbrella drinks and then you listen to lyrics of guns, shooting up etc. haha. Great stuff. With this song, it has that pop-ie style the kids would like but, the message...BAM..interesting. I was also thinking, how interesting it would be to take them and put it to a style of song like "Hurt" by NIN.

    Enjoyable, anyways. Great job
