OMG, OMG, I finally got Tsatsoulin's book "Enter the Kettlebell" from the library! That's something to feel good about. Planning a short stint on the elliptical and some KB swinging today and then go to the hot tub after. Yay! A downer that steam room is still under maintenance, oh, well. I am starting to have a serious steam room withdrawal!

125.8 lbs this morning. Don't know what to make of it. Sure, I can come up with 'explanations', sea weed, raw cabbage yesterday... but what's the point. That's 4 lbs higher than where I was hoping to be tomorrow on the control weigh in, and it is basically back to square one.

I guess walking is completely useless for my fat-loss.

    Sept 10, 2012: 20+ hrs fast, 1035 cals, 29/9 carbs (10%), 60 g protein, 75 g fat (66%). Walking, cardio SS (40 min), stretch (10 min)
    Sept 11, 2012: 16+ hrs fast, 1370 cals, 27/9 carbs, 94 g protein, 97 g fat (64%); Lifting (deload, SQT 5x5) + 20 min X-trainer; 1 hr walk
    Sept 12, 2012: 22 hrs fast, 980 cals, 16/6.5 carbs, 40 g protein; 86 g fat (78%); Recovery, some strolling during field trip.
    Sept 13, 2012: 15 hrs fast, 1310 cals, 29/8 g carbs, 101 g protein, 88 g fat (59%); 20 min x-trainer; 20 min light lifting; ~ 50 min walk
Sept 14, 2012: >1300 cals (but did not count add-on in time); Lifting + 20 min swim, ~ 1 hr walking
Sept 15, 2012: Not counted macros; Play day (pool, walking, garden)
Sept 16, 2012: Not counted macros; Lifting + 20 min x-trainer; walking, a little gardening
    Sept 17, 2012: ~ 1400 cals, 34 g/11 g carbs, 88 g protein, 104 g fat (65 %); ~2 hrs walking, light gardening
    Sept 18, 2012: 1480 cals, 33/7 g carbs, 108 g protein, 105 g fat (61%); ~ 1.5 hrs walking, Lifting (OHP)
    Sept 19, 2012: 1600 cals, 33/8 g carbs, 101 g protein, 119 g fat (66%) ~ 2 walking, Stretch
    Sept 20, 2012: 1335 cals, 36/14 carbs; 65 g protein, 106 g fat (70%) ~ 35 min elliptical, 3x15 snatches w 20# KB, 90 min walking, stretch

Control weigh in: 122 lbs - so I just touched the top of my 'from a fat cow to human' range, leaving the 'whale' range firmly behind. And, yes, another week-end that I managed without a carb up. I believe that seaweed is what gives me a huge weight gain after consumption, since it is so salty. I had a miserable day of water re-balance on Saturday (eww, the dashes). I can't believe I used to try to hit 'drinking water goal in my past subjecting myself to this kind of experience every day deliberately. I know that seaweed is important to iodine when you are on a low carb, but I am going to limit seaweed eating to 1 day a week, maybe on Monday or Tuesday so it rolls up with the weekend gain and clears fast.

Overall, I feel positive, but I still crave apples very much. My husband went kindda guilty around the eyes yesterday saying: OMG, you are doing so much for my birthday and I have got nothing for yours... It would be so odd if I told him the truth, that the only thing I want for my birthday was an apple. Actually a bucket of apples? But then, I want to look slender more than I want apples. Yes, it is conflicted, but my priority compass is still set firmly on the 'mirror' rather than 'eating everything I want'. Though, of course the mall environment on Saturday with its emphasis on 'treat' food and the birthdays galore this week is hard.

I have sweats and fatigue once in a while, and muscle soreness is still a 2 day event after any muscular exertion. Other than that, I find it relatively inconsequential.

On Saturday, we had a nice slow moving girl's day out in the mall with my daughter, cris-crossing it a number of times, doing about an hour of balancing on the ropes for the Rope Quest (I absolutely loved it!), playing mini-golf, and in the end of the day going to the waterpark to ride the waves and slides. And, for me, to soak in the hot tub (not that it is something special, but whatever).

On Sunday, I had kind of an old-world experience: cooking pork hocks, roasting a huge pumpkin to turn it into pumpkin puree preserves, roasting pumpkin seeds, and simultaneously working in the garden, cleaning up, setting 3 sets of bulbs that arrived. Then I went shopping the second time for cake decorating supplies in our Michael's & my daughter and I finished framing her master-piece for daddy's birthday. I felt a bit of a time-warp. I even started dreaming of perm and nail-polish!

Yesterday, my husband and my daughter were sampling the chocolates that our aunt sent from England for our birthdays. It was not easy to stay in the kitchen, head down with working on making the sweet potato chips and hearing that the things were very pretty and very lovely. But the good control weigh-in helped. Now, I just have to get through baking the mini-cheesecakes on Wednesday night.

Ah, yeah, my reading today consisted of thumbing through the two chapters that are not applicable to me: "I Feel Guilty When I take Care of Myself" and "I have to Eat Out: Cooking is Too Much for Me.". Neither is true for me at all, so hey, that's good news! Next chapter is I Need Food for Stress relief, and I will be working on this one more thoroughly!

The stars aligned yesterday - the nail polish was on 50% sale, so I got a couple of different colors and the lipstick too. My daughter and I had a girlie thing, painting nails (and she got the toes too), and what can I say? The result is about the same as 20 years back! Would made a 12 yo proud. LOL!

Lamb chops are thawing for the evening feast!

    Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!

Happy b-day to your baby and your husband as well... you're all libras if I remember
    correctly, yes?

In any event, happy birthday to all and I hope you have a GREAT day.

My own libra b-day isn't until October 11th... forty-cough-four... OMG.

I was just thinking about it last night, how I certainly don't feel or act that
old, but I am for sure going to BE that old. HA!

    Anyway, have a splendid birthday,

    Julia

Thank you so much! And I am so glad to see you! Yep, my baby, or, rather the young lady, is a couple weeks down the road, baking Scooby-Doo cake and cupcakes for her. As for age, I figured I am just one step closer to being Ageless Goddess. I really do not feel old. Heh.

    HA! I know, me neither.

Especially when my ten year old and I go frogging and fishing all the time.

It's SO GREAT to have a best buddy that likes to do all the things that *I* like
to STILL DO even at the ripe old age of 43.

Seriously, there is something WRONG with me.

What old lady wakes up excited like it's x-mas morning every Saturday and
Sunday because I get to go get all dirty and nasty looking for frogs and
skewering worms on hooks to catch fish we're just going to throw back?

That'd be me, The Big Moron.

Even better that the Very Finicky "I Don't Like To Do Anything That Doesn't Involve
Spending Your Money On Me" 7yo, stays home and plays the Wii with his father.

I like outside, the Wii can kiss my rear. HAR!

Ah, so the Young Lady sounds closer to my birthday..... You be sure to fax me one
    of those cupcakes.

That is SO COOL that she likes Scooby-Doo. I LOVED that show when I was a kid and I just
put it on for MY kids this morning... even though they'd rather watch the crappy Phinneus and
Ferb drivel that I HATE. Too bad! Scooby-Doo or NOTHING.

    Muhuwahahahahahahahaha.

Hey, we own them until 18, right? RIGHT!

Okie doke, have a great rest of the day.

    Happy Celebrating!

Thank you so much! My lady and i decided that for my b-day present we are going to go play in the leaves this weekend. I am so envious of your fishing! We did our first attempt this summer, and I hope we will do more the next summer. I really would love to get in the habit of fishing! BUT! We have a rain yesterday and a drizzle today, and it is warm, so I am thinking it is a good idea to check out the mountains for mushrooms over the weekend!

You can't believe how happy Scooby Doo makes me feel after the Princesses, princesses and princesses. Psst, she is getting a Transformers bedding set (and the new bed) for her b-day. I thought Rapanzel did not go too well with the dad's vintage StarWars art prints we FINALLY put on her walls (only took us 6 years, lol! I framed them when I was so big with her, I couldn't move much.)

The lambchops were a HUGE success, my presumably non-lamb loving husband was like: You sure know how to make them great' and my kiddo was: "Great cooking, mom!" Wow. Most of all I loved it that all herbs and tomatoes for the salad were from the garden. Calories were high though. Weight unchanged from yesterday morning, 124.4 lbs (zut! but what do you expect, stuffing your face). Well, if I want that 115 lbs piece of fruit, I need to start dialing down. I am thinking fat fast till supper tonight. Alas, tonight is the cheescakes baking night. Yakes. I am not sure if I should just put a tbsp of cream cheese into the food log right now or see how I do instead of signing away my surrender the first thing in the morning.

Good thing that today's chapter is: "But I Want Something Sweet". Bad thing is that the approach recommended is to think the craving through totally, and then satisfy the craving by mindfully chewing the hell out of the small piece of the craved food, savoring it in every mindful way possible while fully present. That's not what the doctor ordered for me.

    Sept 10, 2012: 20+ hrs fast, 1035 cals, 29/9 carbs (10%), 60 g protein, 75 g fat (66%). Walking, cardio SS (40 min), stretch (10 min)
