It's the medium-chain triglycerides, right? They can't be stored as fuel so they just get dumped into the bloodstream for instant energy.

I wonder why I have to be so backwards about everything. I think maybe the first time I ever had it, it had that effect. And I could use that effect now but it just doesnt happen that way. And I have it almost every. single. morning. uuggh

Wait, butter in coffee? Why haven't I thought of that before?

Coconut oil makes me throw up though (literally)

Maybe because that's about as paleo/primal as a box of Cheerios?

Bullet proof coffee is the best way to have coffee now bar none. 2 tblsp butter, 1 tblsp honey in the blender with hot coffee and hit frappee. I normally add 1 tblsp coconut oil but I think I will lay off it for now. I still feel sick.

Man walks into a doctor's office and says, "Doc, it hurts when I do this." And the doctor says, "Well then, don't do that".

Same with CO. It has gotten so overhyped as some panacea that is going to save humanity from every possible ailment. If it doesn't agree with you, don't eat it.

It happens to a lot of people, not just you. You might be able to get used to it if you worked up to it gradually but why suffer when there is butter?
The amount of CO in your BP coffee plus frying your eggs adds up to a pretty substantial dollop. CO isn't exactly a natural food. You would have to process a lot of raw coconut to get that much oil out. I doubt any South Pacific Groks would have been eating that much daily.

It's a great way to get energy and stay in ketosis. Not necessary, as paleobird said. Either you like what it does or you don't. I find it makes me feel amazing.

I've gone through phases with CO. When I was first starting to lose, it tasted like heaven to me and I was eating it by the spoonful. Now it makes me want to gag. My body chemistry has evidently changed with getting the extra weight off. I don't know why this changes how I react to CO but it does.
