Vibrams and Socks page

Hi all!
I had my first pair of Vibrams fitted today ready to pick up when I get paid on Friday (so excited!). One of the stipulations of trying them on in the shop was that I had to wear socks (Injinji five finger socks of course), and they felt pretty comfortable.
I was just wondering if any of you Vibram wearers out there wore them with or without socks? Is it good or bad? Please bombard me with your answers!

I wear them both ways depending on the weather. They have a very nice soft lining so they don't rub on bare skin and if they get stinky you can always toss them in the wash. I have four pair. Yes I am a bit of a VFF nut. I have a whole drawer just for my ininji socks.

I wear the Injinjis when it's colder or in situations like longer flights where I want to take off my shoes entirely and be able to walk around without being actually barefoot. I even have a compression pair that are nice for flying and for recovery use if my calves are sore.

Thanks for your reply, which four pairs do you have? I'm a VFF nut too in all honesty, and I'm already pricing up different style ones to match outfits that I usually wear! I have to agree, the socks were really comfortable too!

When it's 25F or below I wear the socks

my komodos are skin tight, so I don't wear socks with them. However, I have a nice pair of bormios that I specifically bought a size larger to accomodate toe socks to keep my feet warm for the winter.
I tried wearing socks with my komodos and ended up injuring my feet.

I have a very old pair of the KSO treks in the kangaroo suede (those are also good in colder temperatures)
Then I bought some bright orange treks that I climbed Mt. Kilimangaro in.
Then I got some of the ones with the elastic laces in front (not sure of model name) at the REI used gear sale
My latest and greatest are the Speed ones. I love the grippy treads.

Oh, and I have a pair of black Classics that I rarely wear because they are just not comfy over my instep, I prefer the models that come up higher on the foot.

I guess that means I have five. I wonder how many Mark has. But then he probably gets his for free.

I sometimes get blisters without socks if I'm using em too heavily. Also, wearing socks will make them stink a lot less and therefore you won't have to wash them as much. It's worth the premium price you pay for them IMO.

Well, once it gets too cold here, the VFFs are just not warm enough, even with socks--maybe more like a cozy sweater than a winter coat. My sweetie does leather work, so he is making me some soft leather mukluks for this winter with a flexible Vibram outsole for traction and some nice rabbit fur to make them toasty warm.

I bought the compression Injinjis at the same running shop where I buy my VFFs. They really help with soreness in the calves and help eliminate water retention in the feet and legs on long trips. Same principle as other compression wear, just with toes so I can wear them with my Vibrams.

Oh, and I have four pairs: smartwool classics for casual, the kangaroo suede treks for hiking, sprints for running/gym, and performa janes for indoor use.
