    HFCS is Worse than Sugar

    Primal Fuel
Please read this Princeton study that was not followed up by peers and was assassinated in MSM the little it was covered: Princeton University - A sweet problem: Princeton researchers find that high-fructose corn syrup prompts considerably more weight gain Be aware that true researchers are threatened with withdrawal of lab funding if certain research that upsets the USDA and FDA is pursued.

And please read why sugar is so expensive in America: The Sugar Industry: The Sugar Industry and Corporate Welfare

I'm curious why this keeps getting debated? It's like you guys are arguing over whether whole wheat flour is healthier than regular white flour. Do y'all know which site you're on??!?

Hey if your allowed to do HFCS and prescription drugs as TV commercials I say we give the tobacco industry back their rights to advertise. I think they should hire Tony the Tiger as a spokesman. I think the Camels days are at an end and its not a huge jump for Tony to go from peddling the smaller drugs of sugar and grain with a ton of additives to a bit of nicotine and a ton of additives. Actually get him in with American Spirits and it might even be a step up.

Yes, I agree the commercial is offensive.

Suing against "big corn" in this country would be like suing "God." But if you can find a lawyer to do it, I'm in.

The easiest way, of course to avoid this garbage is to not buy anything in boxes, cans, bags, or bottles. If you must (and I must because I don't own a cow for eg.) buy items that are prepackaged, read read read the label. Even at the deli counter, ask to read the label before your product is sliced. In all the times I've asked, I've only gotten one wtf look, and I just shrugged and said, "allergies."

Because nobody bothered to crack open their copy of Gary Taubes' Good Calories Bad Calories.* In that book, Taubes makes it very clear that the structure of glucose is very usable by our cells for energy. Fructose is not usable, so it goes to the liver where it is processed into tryglycerides(!), ie, fat. Princeton was correct.

NOT ALL SUGARS ARE THE SAME, JUST LIKE NOT ALL CALORIES ARE THE SAME. Our bodies can use certain molecular shapes but not others. Something may taste the same to our tongues but look totally different to our livers. Of course the lobbyists don't want us to do that kind of critical thinking. They would rather that we swallow their Orwellian language and logical fallacies wholesale.

HFCS must be dirt cheap, because they use a LOT of it. A can of Coke has two tablespoons (38g) of sugar in it. That's like putting SIX sugars in your coffee. Most people use two sugars at most. Is real sugar really 3 times the price of HFCS?

Research funding is a real issue, isn't it. Universities are extremely biased toward CW, because that's where the funding is. But if, say, Mark were to pay a couple million $ for a study, they would accuse him of being the biased one.

    Corn is killing us.

Thank god for the internet and free speech because as we all share with each other how quitting sugar and flour and crappy oils and other junk has restored our health and vitality we all have way more power in the end than those who are trying to kill us. At least until they come out with the drone mosquitoes that can give you injections and the identification microchips. Then we're screwed.

There are a lot of really horrible commercials running these days, but this particular one gets me angrier than most. It's gotten to the point that my wife starts rolling her eyes during the first second of the commercial, because she knows a rant is coming

The problem is not the HFCS claim that "sugar is sugar" but that HFCS has replaced the animal fats that used to be used to flavor foods because they were believed to cause heart disease. I don't care if HFCS is worse then cane sugar, it is like saying a punch in the face is worse then a kick in the ass. They both cause inflammation and oxidation.
