Identifying grains - Help!
Hi everyone, I'm relatively new to primal living and so far it's awesome, I'm noticing a reaction to the grains already. But, I'm still finding myself questioning things, like potatoes and rice for example. Any tips?
Rice is a grain. Some people think that white rice is a "safe starch", as all of the anti-nutrients are in the bran, which is removed in the polishing process. White potatoes are tubers; they are fine to eat as long as you don't have any autoimmune problems. Sweet potatoes are great. All of these foods contain a lot of starch, which, in general, one should avoid if you have a great deal of weight to lose/are metabolically "broken".
