Do avoid all forms of sugar when you are sick? Does it feed the bug?
For example, no fruits, starches, etc. if you're coming down with a cold? What about those of you that still eat dairy....do you cut it out completely too? Thanks.

I was always told to sip lemonade when I was sick which can help. Some forms of sickness can increase your glucose requirements so there might be some reasoning behind it.
I think it's highly variable though. I can get weird kinds of cravings when sick and even feel ill at the thoughts of foods I normally love.

Starve a fever, feed a cold. I've heard people argue that this is actually medically valid, as fevers (infections) eat sugar, whereas viruses do not. However, I am not sure if this is actually true. I vaguely remember someone making a convincing argument in its favor, but that's about it.
I'd say bone broth is always good to eat if you're sick.
