    Best carbs to eat?

    Primal Fuel
Okay, so if anyone is following my journal, you will know I have accepted that vlc is not working for me. I can't sleep when I'm vlc: it's affecting my life in every aspect, and offsetting all the positive benefits I'm gleaning from going primal.

I want to up my carb intake but most carbs don't agree with me. Bread and pasta are my enemies, rice and potatoes drop me. Other than sweet potatoes, what other carbs are good to eat?

Winter (hard) squash is always good. Lots of different varieties and surprisingly versatile. I think my favorite is Delicata, with Acorn a close second.

I eat either pumpkin, taro, plantains or cassava frequently.

    Bananas?

Fried bananas are delicious added to a korma with sweet potato fries, salmon and prawns.

They're also good in pancakes. Blend 1 large banana with 2 eggs and a pinch of salt. Fry in coconut oil or butter.

I love spaghetti squash, as long as it's w/homemade meatballs.

Other than sweet potatoes, red-skin potatoes, plantains and bananas are winners.

Tapioca probably wouldn't work out if you don't respond well to rice. Have you considered soaked lentils or black beans? The stronger protein and fiber content might keep you from crashing.

I eat a lot of pumpkin and squash. Also beetroot, I just love them. They're quite high carb and nice and sweet. Good hot or cold.

Acorn, butternut and spaghetti squashes are really yummy and are good source of carbs.
