Yep, tried the sweet potato and fruit also, not kefir yet tho - not sure where to buy around here.

Dysbiosis eh...? seems legit. Might have to investigate further. Initial googling suggests it could be my problem.

Wow, imagine that. I go primal and it leads my to problems that have been caused by a SAD diet?!?!?!

Have you tried drinking more water? Coconut oil will speed things up for a lot of people too.

You could also try putting your feet up on a bench to get yourself closer to a squatting position while have a BM. It straightens out the path the stool has to travel to leave your body and makes it easier to pass.
Using low lectin/nightshade free primal to control autoimmune arthritis. (And lost 50 lbs along the way )

I went to a naturopath who prescribed 2x3g magnesium and some zinc daily. Ive also added LSA (ground linseed, sunflower and almond) for extra fibre/calories.

My energy was also low as my intake was roughly 1200 cals daily (should be 2000), so part of this is to increase my intake in general. I really struggle with eating what seems to be so much, but back in the days of SAD, I would probably easily consume all that plus bread.

So far (two days), things seem a little looser, but not 100% just yet.

I hope I didn't miss it... how much fat are you consuming per day?

Am now getting about 80-90gms of fat. Around 50% of my 2000cals.

    Before was probably half that.

After giving birth to my daughter, going #2 was the most excrutiating experience of my life. Seriously, I would have rather have been in labor again. I didn't poop for over a week, even though I had to. The pain kept building and building. The doctor gave me a prescription for colase (sp?) but it did NOTHING. It was a nightmare.
    You know what worked?
Copious amounts of prunes and chocolate milk.

prunes & chocolate = God's laxative, I tell ya what. If I have to go through that experience again when I have my next kid, I am buying Mojo Milk to mix with our raw dairy and prunes like the zombie apocalypse is coming!
Oh and maybe I'll stuff the prunes with some coconut oil. I hear it has a laxative effect on some people

i used the supplements from gutsense, which did wonders. If you don't want to order Hydro-C, you could just buy a similar thing from your local store, because it's basically a gentle form of vitamin C - take about 2 grams on an empty stomach, wait about 1/2 an hour to eat. If you're vitamin C deficient, it won't stimulate a BM, because you're body will just suck it all up, so keep taking about 500 mg until you do have a BM. This, in combination with a big dose of magnesium citrate the night before is the only thing that gets me going when I'm stopped up.

When I increase my fats to about 60%+ daily calories, things move more smoothly. You'd need to do it for a few days to see if it'd help. I think it took about 3-4 days of higher fat intake to notice a difference. May not help, but it may be worth a shot (if you haven't gone up that high already). Best of luck!

I read gutsense, even bought the book, i was wondering because i thought i read the author himself declare that you don't necessarily have to buy his brands that he mentions equivalent substitutes? I didn't come across this but is something like Hydro-C available in local stores? I dno't fancy buying off his website but i guess it wouldn't hurt to try some suitbale substitues but i'm not sure what these supplements are exactly or what they're called in stores...
